Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elbert Robbins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry Monthan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larry Monthan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Elbert Robbins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Larry Monthan! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Francis DeMontford and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Robbins dives in and scores a takedown into Monthan's guard. Robbins controls from within his opponent's guard. Monthan looking for a sweep. Not yet Monthan, not yet. Robbins missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Robbins postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Robbins might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Robbins wants to control from the top but Monthan keeps moving. Robbins loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Robbins preventing the sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Robbins with a flurry of punches that miss. Robbins throwing strikes from guard but Monthan blocks nicely. Robbins looking to sit in guard and control but Monthan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Monthan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Robbins is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monthan looking to sit in guard and control but Robbins gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Robbins really is a fat lump. Robbins preventing the sweep. Robbins engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Robbins stopping the sweep attempt from Monthan. Robbins missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Monthan is trying to keep Robbins in close.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Robbins loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Monthan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Robbins defends well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Robbins wants to pass the guard but Monthan is keeping the position. Robbins stays in close to Monthan's body and controls the position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Robbins drops back looking for a leg! Monthan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Monthan manages to kick Robbins off! Robbins jumps back into Monthan's guard. Robbins wants to control from the top but Monthan keeps moving. Robbins throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monthan shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Robbins napping and manages to drive through into side control! Robbins is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Monthan asserts his dominance and retains side control. Monthan decides to stand back up. Monthan steps back and let's Robbins get back to his feet. Monthan has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Robbins is landing a low percentage of strikes. Monthan tests Robbins's chin there with a solid looking shot. Robbins gets caught napping as Monthan dives in and scores a takedown. Robbins manages to retain guard. Monthan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Robbins is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Monthan wanted to stand there but Robbins had control of the position. Robbins wants to get back to his feet but Monthan is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Robbins keeping moving, preventing Monthan from controlling successfully. Robbins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Robbins pulls Monthan in close to prevent any damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Monthan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Robbins swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Larry Monthan dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Monthan tries to counter with a clinch but Robbins shakes him off and moves away. Nice body punch from Monthan. Monthan manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Robbins on his heels. He'll look to pass Robbins's guard now, I'm sure. Monthan tries to stand but Robbins is controlling from the bottom. Robbins is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Monthan tries to get to full guard but Robbins has control of the leg. That's one minute gone in the round. Robbins is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Monthan is defending against the submission attempts here by Robbins.

Robbins is looking to take a break and control but Monthan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Monthan trying to control here.
Monthan has one foot on Robbins's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Monthan drops Robbins with a beautiful combination! Robbins stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Monthan is looking for the KO!
It looks like Elbert Robbins has been cut. An inside leg kick lands from Monthan. Robbins shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Monthan is trying to control but can't.
Robbins is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Monthan is just riding it out for now. Robbins eventually gives up the hold. Monthan is trying to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Monthan moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Monthan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Robbins controls the pace. Monthan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Larry Monthan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Elbert Robbins's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Monthan might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Robbins haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Monthan trying to control but Robbins is working from the bottom.

Monthan throwing strikes from guard but Robbins blocks nicely. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Monthan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Robbins looking to hit a scissor sweep but Monthan is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Robbins working for a triangle but Monthan defends it easily.
Monthan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Robbins works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Monthan trying to control the position from guard on top but Robbins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Monthan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Monthan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Robbins doesn't manage to clinch there - Monthan circles away.
Monthan steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Robbins. Monthan closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Robbins's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Robbins lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Monthan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Monthan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Robbins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Monthan is trying to keep Robbins in close.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Robbins wants to control from the top but Monthan keeps moving.
And that's the end of the fight! Larry Monthan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Monthan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
