Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Smee Again!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Juho Haapoja!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haapoja looks for a takedown but Again sprawls well.
Again swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Haapoja tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Again is able to avoid easily.
Again tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Haapoja manages to circle out of the way.
Haapoja fails with the takedown.
Haapoja tries to clinch but Again moves out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Haapoja.
Again looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Smee Again has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juho Haapoja.
Again looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Haapoja is fending him off so far but Again persists. Nope, Haapoja circles away and we're back to standing.
Again looks to score with a jab to the body but Haapoja is just out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Haapoja gets caught flat footed, as Again shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Again gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Again misses with a hook.
Again misses with an uppercut.
Haapoja gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Again cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Haapoja shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Again defends it nicely.
Haapoja gets tackled into the cage by Again. Again maintains the clinch.
Haapoja changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Again fights it off and pushes away nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Haapoja looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Again shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Haapoja as he avoids it easily.
Again is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Haapoja pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Haapoja gets caught napping as Again dives in and scores a takedown. Haapoja manages to retain guard.
Haapoja really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Again. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Again slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Again stands and throws Haapoja's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Again has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Haapoja is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Again yanks on the arm and Haapoja is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Again.
