Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nobero Shimasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viktor Gragula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nobero Shimasaki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Viktor Gragula! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shimasaki darts in and clinches Gragula up against the cage. Shimasaki gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. We've been informed that Gragula has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Shimasaki successfully pulls guard.
Gragula has gone for a leg lock! Shimasaki slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gragula's guard. Gragula throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Shimasaki postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Shimasaki has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gragula is proving hard to escape from. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gragula is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Shimasaki is aware though and is defending well. Shimasaki throwing strikes but missing. Shimasaki slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gragula tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Shimasaki presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Gragula working to try and regain half guard.
Gragula sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Gragula is staying active underneath Shimasaki, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Shimasaki tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Gragula looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Shimasaki seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Shimasaki not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Gragula looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Shimasaki throws a strike but Gragula avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Shimasaki won't allow Gragula to sweep him here. Shimasaki is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at 11th Planet MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gragula is trying to control the position but Shimasaki postures up. Gragula throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Gragula lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Shimasaki looking for a sweep. Not yet Shimasaki, not yet. Gragula is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Shimasaki is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Shimasaki has escaped and now he's on top!

Shimasaki trying to control the position from guard on top but Gragula is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shimasaki gets to his feet. Gragula looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Gragula looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shimasaki is fending him off so far but Gragula persists. Nope, Shimasaki circles away and we're back to standing. Gragula walks into a straight right hand from Shimasaki. Gragula closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shimasaki circles away. Shimasaki lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shimasaki throws a head kick that misses. Shimasaki moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Shimasaki delivers a nice body kick. Shimasaki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Shimasaki tries to work over Gragula's front leg with a kick but Gragula checks it. Nobero Shimasaki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Shimasaki has closed the distance and engaged Gragula in a clinch.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gragula is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Gragula working for a triangle but Shimasaki defends it easily.

Nobero Shimasaki dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Shimasaki misses with a hook. Viktor Gragula is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gragula shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shimasaki but Shimasaki pushes him off and we're back to square one. Gragula moves into the clinch successfully.

Shimasaki gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Gragula fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Shimasaki pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. The fight stays on the outside here - Shimasaki looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Gragula wants to counter the offense by Shimasaki and move into the clinch position. Shimasaki tries to clinch up. A head kick misses from Shimasaki. Shimasaki throws a sloppy head kick and Gragula moves out of range easily. Gragula throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Gragula is trying to keep his angry face on. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gragula. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gragula fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shimasaki, pushing him back against the cage. Gragula drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Shimasaki looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Shimasaki is looking to clinch. Gragula drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Shimasaki defends it well. Gragula fails with the takedown and Shimasaki counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Nobero Shimasaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shimasaki tries to clinch but Gragula moves out of range. Shimasaki wants to clinch up but Gragula keeps it at a distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shimasaki connects with a high kick. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gragula. Gragula chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Shimasaki can pounce on him.

This has been an exciting period of action! Gragula lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shimasaki circles away quickly and effectively. Gragula will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Shimasaki connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Gragula closes the distance and clinches. Gragula is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Gragula is trying to pull guard but Shimasaki has him pressed against the cage. Gragula gets underhooks to prevent Shimasaki's takedown attempt.

Nobero Shimasaki dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!
Gragula moves into range and clinches up with Shimasaki. Shimasaki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Gragula shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shimasaki pinned against the cage. Shimasaki gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Shimasaki dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gragula. That did some damage! Gragula clinches up against the cage. Gragula on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Gragula is trying to work for a kimura but Shimasaki is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gragula is keen to just control but Shimasaki is a slippery customer. Shimasaki is controlling Gragula's trapped leg to prevent Gragula from advancing to side control. Gragula is working for a kimura but Shimasaki is defending it quite comfortably.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Gragula closes the distance and pushes Shimasaki back into the cage. Gragula goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Shimasaki putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Gragula in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Gragula takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Shimasaki with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Nobero Shimasaki has scored more points in the clinch so far. Shimasaki lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Nobero Shimasaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Viktor Gragula. Gragula avoids the head kick by Shimasaki.

Gragula swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. The fight stays on the outside here - Shimasaki looks like he's thinking about clinching though. It seemed like Gragula was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Gragula misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Shimasaki.
Nobero Shimasaki is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Shimasaki throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. A combination from Shimasaki does no damage. Viktor Gragula has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gragula tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Gragula takes a shot right to the bread basket.
And that's the end of the fight! Nobero Shimasaki showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shimasaki, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
