Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Black Mamba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hawk might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Last ride of the Day: . On his way into the cage it seems that Thomas Hawk has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Thomas Hawk seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Thomas Hawk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Black Mamba!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawk dips to his left and cracks Mamba with an uppercut!
Mamba throws a body punch but Hawk moves out of range.
Hawk feinted with a counter takedown.
Hawk misses with a looping left.
Hawk misses with an uppercut. Mamba saw that one coming.
Black Mamba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mamba misses with the combination.
Mamba throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mamba throws a hook to the side of Hawk's head but Hawk sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hawk on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Hawk takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Hawk scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mamba has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hawk is working away from the top position though.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Hawk uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mamba.

Hawk changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mamba looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Hawk tries to score with some ground and pound. Mamba controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Mamba felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hawk, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
