Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yuki Takano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Gregory (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Yuki Takano has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Yuki Takano seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yuki Takano! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Gregory! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gregory misses with a body shot.
Takano uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gregory.
Gregory misses with an uppercut. Takano saw that one coming. Gregory takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
It looks like Joe Gregory has been cut. Takano moves out of range of the body kick. Takano closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Gregory fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Takano pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Gregory jabbing away but nothing is landing. Nice shot by Takano. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Takano needs to keep his hands up - Gregory had a free shot at his head there. Gregory throws a series of punches but Takano moves out of range. Gregory fails with a takedown attempt. Gregory just misses with a punch to the body.
Takano tried to counter with a leg kick but Gregory avoided it. Takano has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Gregory fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Takano manages to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takano tries to land a front kick but Gregory steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Takano lands the left hand. Takano misses the shot to the body. Takano blocks a head kick by Gregory.
Gregory throws a lazy right hand but Takano sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. The fighters circle momentarily. Gregory darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Takano throws a quick inside leg kick. Takano scores with a nice body kick.
Donk. Takano catches Gregory right on the button with a cross.
Gregory is rocked! Takano throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Gregory is still on wobbly legs! Can Takano finish him? Gregory lunges at Takano with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Takano's hand. Gregory seems to have recovered his senses. Gregory tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Takano was well out of range. Poor timing from Gregory. The fighters circling - Gregory throws out the jab but it was never going to land. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Takano pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Gregory misses with a wild body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takano moves away from the strike by Gregory. Takano uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gregory.
Gregory misses with a low kick as Takano jumps back. Takano lands a big head kick that sends Gregory tumbling to the mat! Takano takes a step backwards and waves Gregory back to his feet - he wants the finish! Gregory pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That kick from Takano tenderised Gregory's leg. Gregory is trying to keep his angry face on. Gregory scores with a nice right hand.
Gregory shoots in for a takedown but Takano shows good takedown defense. Yuki Takano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Gregory. Takano ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gregory moves away. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Gregory! But no joy. Gregory scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Nice defenses there by Gregory. Gregory lands a right hook to the body.
A telegraphed right hand from Takano misses the target. Gregory throws a jab but it's blocked by Takano. Takano throws a body kick that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gregory throws a big shot that misses. Takano scores with a leg kick.
Takano misses with a body kick. Takano lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
That has opened up Joe Gregory's cut even more. Takano throws a leg kick which misses Gregory's front leg but catches the back leg as Gregory tries to avoid it. Gregory misses with an uppercut
and Takano counters with a nice body kick. Takano looks to land a body kick but Gregory moved away. Takano misses with a body kick. Gregory scores with a hook. Gregory throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Takano's waist but Takano gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gregory off to one side. Gregory misses the shot to the body. Gregory avoids the body shot from Takano.
Gregory throws the kick towards the body but Takano avoids it. Gregory throws a low kick, looking for Takano's leg but Takano calmly moves out of range. Takano lands a big right hand that sends Gregory crashing to the mat! Takano stays standing though and waves Gregory back to his feet!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Takano uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gregory. Takano uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gregory.
An inside leg kick lands from Takano. Gregory rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Takano counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Gregory swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gregory shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Takano sprawls well. Takano wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gregory gets slowly back to his feet. Takano avoids the head kick by Gregory.

Takano keeps Gregory at a distance using the push kick. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Takano motions for Gregory to come forward. Takano throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Gregory checks the leg kick. Gregory shoots in but no luck this time. Takano lands with a right hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yuki Takano dominated that round. The cut man is working on Joe Gregory's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Takano thumps Gregory with a low kick. Gregory throws a hook to the side of Takano's head but Takano sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Yuki Takano is winning the standup battle so far. Gregory goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Gregory might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Takano has got the better of the exchanges. Takano throws a push kick but Gregory slaps the foot to one side. Gregory keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Gregory lands with a straight right. Takano didn't see that one coming. Takano throws a looping overhand right but Gregory ducks down to avoid it. Takano feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Gregory sprawling to the canvas! Gregory rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Takano finish him?!
This has been an exciting period of action! Gregory looks to score with a jab to the body but Takano is just out of range. Gregory scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Takano doesn't seem bothered though. Joe Gregory seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A nice inside leg kick there by Takano. That's going to slow Gregory down. Gregory closes this distance looking for a takedown but Takano circles away. Takano throws a low kick but it's checked well by Gregory. Gregory fails to land the takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takano stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Takano wants it to stay on the feet. Yuki Takano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Gregory. Gregory fails with the takedown and Takano scores with a counter punch that sends Gregory to the canvas! Takano smells blood - he's punishing Gregory with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Gregory has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yuki Takano! Yuki Takano retains his featherweight title! Yuki Takano decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
