Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by Blood of Heroes!. Korpisuo has chosen Eläkeläiset - Humpparaakki as his entrance music. Risto Korpisuo will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

With a record of 23 - 31 - 1, fighting out of New York, Risto Korpisuo!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson throws a head kick that misses.
Nice defenses there by Korpisuo.
Korpisuo slips under a jab.
Korpisuo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Johnson.
Johnson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Korpisuo counters with a series of strikes. Johnson will be more careful next time no doubt.
Korpisuo lands with a nice body punch.
Johnson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Korpisuo is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
A telegraphed right hand from Johnson misses the target.
Johnson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Korpisuo slips a jab from Johnson.
Korpisuo let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Johnson closes the distance and clinches.
Johnson misses with a punch on the inside.
Johnson stalling the fight.
Johnson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Korpisuo has him pressed against the cage.
Johnson misses with a knee strike.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson tries to throw a body punch but Korpisuo avoids it by throwing Johnson back against the cage.
Johnson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Korpisuo has Johnson pressed against the cage, preventing Johnson from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Korpisuo manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Korpisuo has control of Johnson's left arm, preventing Johnson from doing any damage.
Johnson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Korpisuo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Johnson is one step ahead there.

Korpisuo is looking for a triangle but Johnson pushes his legs off easily.

Korpisuo pulls Johnson in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson wants to control from the top but Korpisuo keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Korpisuo looks to land a combination. Johnson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
No joy there for Korpisuo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A little feinted left hand from Johnson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Johnson scores with a hook to the body. Korpisuo takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Johnson drops Korpisuo with a right and a left! Johnson comes rushing in but Korpisuo regains his composure and manages to keep Johnson in guard.


Korpisuo is rocked!

Johnson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Korpisuo is still on wobbly legs! Can Johnson finish him?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johnson flashes Korpisuo a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Korpisuo's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Korpisuo crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Johnson punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Craig Johnson!
After winning the bout, Craig Johnson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
