The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lane shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hooligan but Hooligan pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hooligan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lane was well out of range. Poor timing from Hooligan.
Hooligan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hooligan looks to score with a jab to the body but Lane is just out of range.
Hooligan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lane stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Lane has his takedown stuffed
letting Hooligan counter with a right hand.
Hooligan cracks Lane with a right hand to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lane tries to counter by clinching up but Hooligan breaks away and moves out of range.
Hooligan dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lane. That did some damage!
Hooligan throws a hook but Lane avoids it easily.

and Hooligan counters with a straight right hand.

Lane looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Good leg kick by Hooligan there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Lane tries to close the distance and clinch but Hooligan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Hooligan throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hooligan misses with a hook. Lane ducked under it nicely.
Hooligan misses with an uppercut. Lane saw that one coming.

Hooligan misses with a two punch combination.
Lane fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hooligan thuds a left hand into Lane's body.

Hooligan moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Hooligan gets caught napping as Lane dives in and scores a takedown. Hooligan manages to retain guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lane stands and steps away. Hooligan gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Hooligan swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Lane.
Hooligan looks to score with a jab to the body but Lane is just out of range.
Hooligan misses with a straight right.

Hooligan only half commits to the counter leg kick.

Lane breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lane goes for a double leg but Hooligan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hooligan continues to drive forward.
Hooligan looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Lane could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lane is breathing heavily.
Lane doesn't succeed with the takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Hooligan throws a punch but it's blocked by Lane.
Hooligan misses with a hook from the clinch.
Hooligan lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Some bone on bone action there as Lane checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Lane was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

and Lane counters with a single leg into guard. Hooligan didn't expect that.

A quick step to the side and Lane tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Hooligan throws a shot from downtown. Lane moves away and avoids it.
Hooligan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lane.
Lane is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Hooligan lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Lane fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hooligan clinches up with Lane and pushes him back against the cage.

Lane's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Hooligan will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Lane up against the cage.
Oh Lane is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hooligan lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Hooligan creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Lane's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Lane drops to his knees and Hooligan pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
