Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Van Kelly!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kelly is fending him off so far but Howard persists. Nope, Kelly circles away and we're back to standing.
Howard gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kelly holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Howard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kelly works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Kelly with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Howard looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Kelly landing some decent shots from guard.
Howard on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Howard tries to get out of the position.
Kelly is pushing down on Howard's leg trying to pass to half guard. Howard is fighting to maintain full guard but Kelly has managed to sneak the leg through.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kelly moves into full mount! Howard won't be happy about that!

Kelly has hold of Howard's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Howard manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Oooh a big shot lands for Kelly! Howard is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Van Kelly!
A relieved looking Van Kelly thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
