Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Delbert Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edhar Alachnowicz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edhar Alachnowicz is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Delbert Ellis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Edhar Alachnowicz! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alachnowicz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ellis's guard. Alachnowicz trying to control but Ellis is working from the bottom. Ellis is pulling down on Alachnowicz's head to control his posture. Ellis wants to stand and escape but Alachnowicz is having none of it. Ellis throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Alachnowicz escapes and throws Ellis's legs to the side, diving into side control! You can see the frustration on Ellis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alachnowicz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ellis keeps working. Alachnowicz controls the position from side control.

He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Alachnowicz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alachnowicz gets to his feet. Ellis looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Alachnowicz clinches. Alachnowicz successfully pulls guard.
Ellis working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Alachnowicz's head. Alachnowicz has an active guard here but Ellis has managed to pass into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ellis lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Alachnowicz is looking to escape. Ellis passes into side control, despite Alachnowicz's attempt to control the position.
Alachnowicz gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Alachnowicz has one foot on Ellis's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Ellis - that will leave a mark!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ellis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alachnowicz is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Ellis with a body shot. Alachnowicz closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ellis quickly recovers to half guard. Ellis is positioning himself well to prevent Alachnowicz advancing to mount. Ellis trying to control here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Alachnowicz is trying to control the action in half guard but Ellis is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Ellis trying to control here.

A head kick misses from Ellis. Alachnowicz throws a head kick that misses. Ellis appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Alachnowicz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ellis, pushing him back against the cage. Alachnowicz turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Alachnowicz manages to end up in side control. Alachnowicz swings around for an armbar but Ellis sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Alachnowicz's guard. Ellis content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. That's one minute gone in the round. Ellis is fighting to break Alachnowicz's control of his arms but Alachnowicz is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Alachnowicz tries to land a sweep but no joy. Alachnowicz has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Alachnowicz is looking for a triangle but Ellis pushes his legs off easily.

Alachnowicz is breathing heavily. Ellis scores with punches from side control. Ellis misses with the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. You can see the frustration on Alachnowicz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Alachnowicz is looking to regain half guard here but Ellis keeps moving and retains side control. Alachnowicz pushes Ellis away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ellis gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. The ground and pound from Ellis seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Ellis wants to clinch up but Alachnowicz keeps it at a distance. Ellis throws a head kick but Alachnowicz moves out of range.
Alachnowicz replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Ellis blocks it well. Ellis tries for a takedown but Alachnowicz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alachnowicz avoids a kick to the body.
Alachnowicz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Ellis is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Alachnowicz pulls his head out easily. Ellis trying to control from the bottom.
Alachnowicz wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Ellis uses the opportunity to regain full guard. Alachnowicz wants to control from the top but Ellis keeps moving. Ellis trying to keep a closed guard but Alachnowicz is proving a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alachnowicz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Alachnowicz tries to free his leg and advance position but Ellis is retaining full guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Alachnowicz closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ellis's guard. Ellis is looking for a triangle but Alachnowicz pushes his legs off easily.

A left and a right from Ellis both land. Nice combination. Alachnowicz pushes Ellis up against the cage in a clinch. Ellis is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Alachnowicz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's one minute gone in the round. Alachnowicz passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Ellis! Alachnowicz sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Ellis is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Alachnowicz lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ellis hang on? Alachnowicz punching from mount but Ellis doing a good job of avoiding damage. Alachnowicz takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ellis wants to control his opponent's hands but Alachnowicz gets his hands free. Alachnowicz keeps control of the position easily here as Ellis tries to buck him off.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Alachnowicz has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Ellis has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ellis is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ellis is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Alachnowicz gets his way!

Maybe a few strikes would soften Ellis for a finish. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ellis just trying to survive but Alachnowicz is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
