Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cedric Maake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edogawa Conan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Conan comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Detective Conan Theme kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Edogawa Conan has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Cedric Maake! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edogawa Conan! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maake throws a hook to the side of Conan's head but Conan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Conan tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Maake loads up on a big right hand but Conan slips the punch. Maake missing with a left hand there. Conan was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Maake swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Conan changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Maake misses with an uppercut. Conan saw that one coming. Conan looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Maake misses with a looping left. Conan has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Maake is landing a low percentage of strikes. The fighters circling - Maake throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Maake misses with a hook. Conan ducked under it nicely. And Conan tries to counter it with a takedown but Maake pushes his down on his head and steps out. We've been told by Maake's head coaches at Zero Tolerance that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Maake throws a looping overhand right but Conan ducks down to avoid it. Conan tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters circling - Maake throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Maake throws a hook but Conan blocks it. Conan is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Maake looks to land a right hand but Conan moved out of range. Maake looks to land a right hand but Conan moved out of range.

Conan uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Maake. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Maake misses with the combination.
Maake misses with a right hand and Conan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Maake throws a hook but Conan blocks it. Conan looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Conan shoots in and gets a takedown into Maake's guard. Conan throwing strikes but missing. Maake looking to hit a scissor sweep but Conan is one step ahead there. Conan scoring with some ground and pound. Conan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Conan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Maake works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Conan throws a big elbow that misses. Maake is trying to keep Conan in close.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Conan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Maake working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Conan. Conan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Conan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Maake works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Conan working some strikes from top position. Maake keeping moving, preventing Conan from controlling successfully. Conan working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Maake's head. Maake is pulling down on Conan's head to control his posture. Maake keeping full guard, as Conan tries to pass. Maake working a defensive guard here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Cedric Maake will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and Conan counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Maake! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maake is looking for a sweep. Conan moves into full mount! Conan looking to finish with strikes here!
Conan avoids the attempt from Maake to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Conan lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maake wants to hold on but Conan pushes him away. Conan misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Maake regains half guard. Conan has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Conan stops Maake from getting back to his feet.
Maake wants to control but Conan is keeping busy and won't allow it. Conan moves into full mount! Maake won't be happy about that! BOOM! Conan connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Conan landing strikes from the mount and Maake is in trouble! Maake wants to control but Conan is having none of it. Conan with shots to the head and body - Maake looks very uncomfortable down there. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Conan putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Maake really wants to buck Conan off and get back to his feet. Maake is in a horrible position here. Conan smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
