The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Sanchez.
Despite the aggression on Makunouchi's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Sanchez slips a jab and a cross from Makunouchi.
Makunouchi fails to land with a series of punches.
Diego Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Makunouchi misses with a combination
and Sanchez counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Sanchez keeps control of Makunouchi as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Makunouchi tries to circle away but Sanchez has him pinned against the cage.
Sanchez breaks from the clinch.
Oooooh!!! Makunouchi has knocked Sanchez down with a huge combo! Makunouchi steps away and waves a wobbly Sanchez back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Diego Sanchez has been cut.

Sanchez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Makunouchi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Sanchez finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Makunouchi's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Sanchez falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
