Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Charles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jhonny Winter!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Chris Dean and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Winter.
Charles wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Winter darts in and out, connecting with a jab.


It looks like David Charles has been cut.
Winter throws a right and a left that both miss.
Charles seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Winter blocks a head kick by Charles.
Charles fails to land the takedown.
Winter tries to circle away but Charles has him pinned against the cage.
Winter wants to get back to striking at distance but Charles won't allow it.

Winter is fighting off a takedown attempt but Charles is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Winter to the mat. Winter regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Charles throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Charles throws a big right hand that misses.
Charles won't allow Winter to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Winter is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Charles dives into side control.
Charles really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Winter defending against the ground and pound.
Charles has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Charles scores with punches from side control.
Charles will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Charles fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Winter wants to get back to his feet.
Charles is chipping away with strikes.
Winter is trying to get back to his feet.
Charles landing strikes.

Charles decides to stand up, so the ref orders Winter to his feet.
Charles misses with a looping left.

Charles clinches with his opponent.
Winter is looking to break free of the clinch but Charles has double underhooks.

Winter ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Winter no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Winter wants to stand up but Charles is controlling him.
Charles slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Charles won't allow Winter to get back to his feet.

Winter has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Charles has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Winter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Charles pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Winter thows a left - swing and a miss!
Charles slips a jab from Winter.
Winter avoids the head kick by Charles.
A nice side step and Winter releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Winter throws a right and a left that both miss.
Winter dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Charles shoots in looking for a takedown. Winter tries to sprawl out of it but Charles keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Winter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Winter slips a jab from Charles.
Winter lands a right hook to the body.
Charles misses with a head kick.
Winter misses with the combination.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Charles is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Winter.
Winter looks to land a combination but Charles avoids it well.
Charles went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Charles avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Charles keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Charles misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jhonny Winter dominated that round.
The cut man is working on David Charles's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Winter lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Winter throws a nice looking combination but Charles bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Winter drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Charles's head, knocking him out cold! Winter is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jhonny Winter!
