Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adams comes to the cage accompanied by Kronik. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Adams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Mir!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Adams paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mir throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Adams's waist but Adams gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mir off to one side.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Mir.
Mir is looking to take a break and control but Adams is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Adams tries to improve position but can't.
Mir taking a breather here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Adams is trying to control Mir's posture but Mir avoids it.

Mir staying calm.
Mir tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Adams is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mir off and has taken his back!
Adams tries to get the hooks in deep but Mir pushed the leg off.
Mir looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Mir wants to control his opponent's hands but Adams gets his hands free.

Adams biding his time, looking for the opening.
Mir just trying to survive but Adams is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Adams is looking to control Mir but Mir is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Mir is trying to get back to his feet but Adams has full control of the position and if anything, Mir has just worked his way into a worse spot.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mir looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Adams cracks Mir with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Mir from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Adams patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Mir tries to escape but Adams has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Adams is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Mir defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Adams scores with punches to the body.
Adams has the hooks in. Mir is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Adams throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Adams is looking to finish with some ground and pound!

Mir defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Adams's arms.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Adams displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mir.
Adams walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Mir checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Adams sets himself, and Mir steps forward looking for the clinch! Adams avoids it this time.
Mir throws a looping overhand right but Adams ducks down to avoid it.
Adams went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Adams is looking to clinch but Mir is avoiding it.
Adams has a takedown stuffed.
Mir looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Mir pushes Adams up against the cage in a clinch.
Adams is trying to drag Mir to the mat but Mir just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Mir misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Adams.
Adams prevents a takedown attempt there.

Mir manages to break the clinch.
Mir does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Adams swats away the attempt to clinch by Mir.
Adams half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Mir shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Adams but Adams pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Mir jumps guard and drags Adams to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Adams wants to pass the guard but Mir is keeping the position.
Adams trying to control the position from guard on top but Mir is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Mir utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Mir throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Adams trying to control but Mir is working from the bottom.
Adams wants to pass the guard but Mir is keeping the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Mir shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Adams pinned against the cage. Adams gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mir wants to clinch up but Adams keeps it at a distance.
Adams is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Adams throws a head kick but Mir moves out of range.
A thudding body kick lands there by Mir!
Nice sprawl there from Adams as Mir shoots in.

Mir gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Adams trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Mir wants to get back to his feet but Adams is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Mir looking to hit a scissor sweep but Adams is one step ahead there.

A close second round but Frank Mir will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Adams's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Adams wants to land a leg kick but Mir is out of range.
As Adams backs off Mir throws a huge counter combo but Adams manages to avoid it all.
Adams misses with a takedown
and Mir counters with a one-two to the body.
Mir moves in looking to clinch but Adams pushes him off.
Adams feinted with a counter takedown.
Adams is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mir sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Frank Mir seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Adams closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mir to the mat! Mir manages to get full guard.
Mir not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Adams's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Mir is adopting a defensive guard.

Mir looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Adams is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Adams chips away with some ground and pound.
Mir looking for a sweep. Not yet Mir, not yet.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Mir is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Adams fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Mir is out of range.
A slapping leg kick lands for Mir.
Adams definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Adams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mir lands with a slapping head kick.


It looks like Brian Adams has been cut.
Mir looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Adams is fending him off so far but Mir persists. Nope, Adams circles away and we're back to standing.
Mir misses with a wild combination.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Adams wants to clinch.
Adams darts in trying to clinch
and Mir counters with a right hand to the body.
Mir tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Adams manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Adams shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mir as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Adams. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mir leaves Adams with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mir will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Mir is staying tight to Adams's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Mir trying to control the action but Adams is working from the bottom.
Adams is looking to reverse the position.

Mir has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Horrible takedown attempt by Mir or perhaps it was just good defense by Adams, which made it look bad.

Mir gets a double leg takedown into Adams's guard.
Adams pulls Mir in to control the position.
Mir looking to pass the guard.
Mir forces his way into half guard.
Adams is trying to control but can't.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Adams is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Mir jumps into side control!

And that's the end of the fight!
Frank Mir comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Mir has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Frank Mir was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
