The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Onizuka throws a head kick but Bowman moves out of range.

Onizuka drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Onizuka jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Onizuka chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Bowman can pounce on him.

Bowman moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Bowman swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Onizuka connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Bowman tries to clinch up.
Bowman throws a head kick that half lands.
Onizuka forces Bowman back against the cage and clinches.
A nice right hand lands inside from Onizuka.
Onizuka has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bowman uses from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bowman wants to get up but he can't break Onizuka's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bowman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Onizuka has hold of Bowman's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Bowman seems comfortable defending it but Onizuka has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Bowman is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Bowman is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Onizuka couldn't care less - he's delighted!
