Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Timo Silakka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phileas Ankward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phileas Ankward is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Timo Silakka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Phileas Ankward!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silakka fails with a takedown attempt.
Ankward misses the shot to the body.
Silakka tries to score with a low kick but Ankward moves his leg out of the way.
A nice side step and Ankward releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Ankward pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Silakka looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Silakka shoots and misses
and Ankward counters with a left to the body.

Silakka closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ankward quickly recovers to half guard.
Ankward wants to control but Silakka is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Silakka has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Silakka lands with some strikes.
Silakka raining down shots from the mount!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Silakka goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ankward is on top in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ankward thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Silakka is pulling down on Ankward's head to control his posture.

Ankward got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silakka has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ankward has managed to get both his arms back between Silakka's legs - danger averted.
Ankward tries to free his leg and advance position but Silakka is retaining full guard.
Ankward must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Silakka wants to sweep but no luck.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Silakka trying to keep a closed guard but Ankward is proving a slippery customer.
Ankward looking to pass the guard.
Ankward content to stall in guard here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Silakka is on top in guard.

Ankward keeping full guard, as Silakka tries to pass.

Silakka trying to control but Ankward is working from the bottom.
Ankward controls Silakka momentarily but Silakka frees himself.
Ankward really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silakka. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Silakka is looking to stand up but Ankward won't let him.
Ankward has momentary wrist control but Silakka slips an elbow through the middle.
Ankward is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Silakka wanted to stand there but Ankward had control of the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ankward stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ankward wants it to stay on the feet.
Ankward is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Timo Silakka. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ankward tries to work over Silakka's front leg with a kick but Silakka checks it.

Ankward shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Silakka manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Ankward preventing the sweep.

Silakka looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ankward postures up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Silakka managing to control the position.
Silakka wants to get back to his feet but Ankward is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Timo Silakka will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Ankward scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Silakka is looking to regain half guard here but Ankward keeps moving and retains side control.
The strikes coming from Ankward are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Ankward working away.
Silakka is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silakka manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Ankward wants to get back to full guard but Silakka has mounted him!

Ankward tries to reverse the position but Silakka maintains control.
Silakka trying to control but Ankward is having none of it.
Silakka thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Silakka is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Ankward can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Silakka looking to control but Ankward is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Silakka jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ankward manages to avoid the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silakka wants to control but Ankward is keeping him busy.
We've been informed that Ankward has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Silakka is really struggling to control Ankward but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Silakka looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Ankward is not content to let Silakka control the position.
Ankward tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Silakka is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ankward has escaped the position, nice work there.
Ankward tries to buck Silakka off but Silakka is having none of it.
Ankward can't do much from the bottom here.
Ankward is looking for a sweep.
Silakka is putting a hurting on Ankward here, landing some big shots from side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ankward gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Ankward trying to hold on to Silakka's head to control him but Silakka postures up.

Silakka is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ankward doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Silakka.

Ankward is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Silakka has latched onto it... Big trouble! Silakka pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Ankward is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Silakka!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Timo Silakka!
