Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renan Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adam Perry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renan Da Silva! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perry shoots in but no luck this time. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Perry. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Da Silva fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Da Silva scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
It looks like Adam Perry has been cut. Da Silva has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Perry is landing a low percentage of strikes. Donk. Da Silva catches Perry right on the button with a cross. Da Silva lands with a straight right. Perry didn't see that one coming. Perry fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Perry. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice takedown defense from Da Silva. No joy for Perry on that attempt. Da Silva throws a leg kick which misses Perry's front leg but catches the back leg as Perry tries to avoid it. Perry takes one to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Da Silva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Da Silva connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Da Silva fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Perry. Perry is trying hard to land a takedown here. Da Silva sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Perry is breathing heavily.

Da Silva gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Da Silva breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Da Silva buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Da Silva decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Da Silva is looking for a kimura but Perry is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Da Silva to get the leverage. Perry is refusing to be controlled, as Da Silva sits in half guard. Da Silva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Perry is just riding it out for now. Da Silva eventually gives up the hold. Da Silva is looking to advance position but Perry won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Da Silva missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Da Silva trying to control from half guard but Perry is working away. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Da Silva is figuring out what he wants to do next. Perry is trying to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Perry shoots in but Da Silva avoids the takedown attempt easily. Da Silva jabs at Perry's body. Perry has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Perry there as he acknowledges the shot.
Adam Perry's cut is getting worse. Da Silva drives through and clinches with Perry against the ropes.
Perry tries to score a body lock takedown but Da Silva shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Perry can't get the takedown.

Da Silva moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. A decent looking cross lands there for Da Silva. Perry darts in looking for a takedown but Da Silva gets double underhooks and turns Perry into the ropes. This has been an exciting period of action! Perry looks to land a right hand but Da Silva moved out of range. Da Silva scores with a jab. Perry acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Adam Perry's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Da Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Perry tries to avoid it but Da Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Perry to the ground. Perry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Perry closes the distance and clinches up with Da Silva, looking for a takedown. Perry pushes Da Silva against the ropes but Da Silva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Perry walks into a stiff left hand from Da Silva. Perry walks straight into a right hand from Da Silva - that's dropped him! Da Silva jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Perry from any more punishment! Perry complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Renan Da Silva! In defeat, Adam Perry stepped up to the mic, saying 'Was a great bout, he did what he had to do to win'.
