The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
George slaps away a takedown attempt from Mayhew, before circling back to the center of the mat.
As Mayhew tries to get set, George tries to push him back and clinch up but Mayhew manages to avoid the attempt.
Horrible takedown attempt by Mayhew or perhaps it was just good defense by George, which made it look bad.

George is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mayhew pulls him back up using the underhooks.

George has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mayhew can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mayhew shoots in looking for a takedown. George tries to sprawl out of it but Mayhew keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. George manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Darren Mayhew seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mayhew is defended easily by George.

George goes for a double leg but Mayhew avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mayhew continues to drive forward.
George takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

George is pressed up against the cage. Mayhew has hold of a leg and is looking to drag George down to the mat. George avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Darren Mayhew comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Mayhew has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
