Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Vip (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Vip! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jackson Spencer! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vip closes the distance and clinches. Spencer can't get the takedown.
Spencer has Vip pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Vip manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Vip decides to pull guard. Vip looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Spencer sitting in guard here, content to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Spencer tries to free his leg and advance position but Vip is retaining full guard. Vip looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Spencer scoring with punches to the head and body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spencer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Spencer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vip has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Spencer has managed to get both his arms back between Vip's legs - danger averted. Spencer throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vip is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Vip wants to sweep here but Spencer controlling him for the moment. Spencer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Spencer trying to control but Vip is working from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Vip fails in his attempt to clinch. Spencer wants to counter with a clinch but Vip pushes him away. Vip with a poor takedown and Spencer counters with a stiff right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Vip changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Spencer tries to avoid it but Vip manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Spencer to the ground. Spencer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Vip has managed to clinch.
Spencer wants a takedown but no success here.
John Vip has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackson Spencer. Spencer goes for a takedown attempt but Vip pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Vip is trying hard to land a takedown here. Spencer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Vip stuffs the takedown attempt from Spencer. Spencer gets slowly back to his feet. As Spencer tries to get set, Vip tries to push him back and clinch up but Spencer manages to avoid the attempt. Vip tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Spencer swivels and escapes. Vip throws a head kick that misses. Vip tries to close the distance and clinch but Spencer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vip shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Spencer as he avoids it easily. Spencer shoots in for a takedown but Vip shows good takedown defense. Vip darts in looking for a takedown but Spencer gets double underhooks and turns Vip into the cage. Spencer forces Vip back against the cage and clinches. Spencer goes for a takedown attempt but Vip pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Spencer fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Vip to the ground. Spencer is now in Vip's guard. Vip keeping moving, preventing Spencer from controlling successfully. Spencer drops back looking for a leg! Vip is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vip manages to kick Spencer off! Spencer jumps back into Vip's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spencer passes Vip's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Vip looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Vip is refusing to be controlled, as Spencer sits in half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Spencer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Vip tries to roll over but Spencer keeps him under control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jackson Spencer dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Vip shoots in and bounces Spencer off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Vip lands a couple of elbows. Spencer throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Vip knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Spencer on the ground. Vip postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spencer controls Vip momentarily but Vip frees himself. Spencer has his foot on Vip's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vip works his way back into a safe position though. Vip scoring with some ground and pound. Vip is looking to work some ground and pound but Spencer has wrist control.

Spencer is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Spencer has Vip pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Vip manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Vip will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Spencer up against the cage. Spencer is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Vip gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Vip is pressed up against the cage. Spencer has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Vip down to the mat. Vip avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. John Vip has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackson Spencer. Vip fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. And Spencer tries to counter it with a takedown but Vip pushes his down on his head and steps out. Spencer takes a shot to the head. Spencer gets underhooks to prevent Vip's takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vip drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Spencer gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Come on Vip - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Spencer is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Vip gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Spencer wants to take the fight to the mat but Vip manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Vip prevents a takedown attempt there.
Spencer gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Vip is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Vip prevents Spencer from standing back up.
Vip is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vip scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Vip is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Vip takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Spencer is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Vip scores with a couple of nice shots. Vip working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Spencer looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Vip working over Spencer with some ground and pound. Spencer looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Vip tries to pass the half guard into mount. Spencer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Vip thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Spencer makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Vip shoots for a double leg takedown but Spencer sprawls well. He's pushed Vip's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Spencer has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Spencer displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vip. Spencer tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. John Vip is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Vip tries to clinch up but Spencer circles away and keeps his distance. Spencer closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Jackson Spencer will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Spencer shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Spencer was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Vip gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Spencer sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Vip defending well though. Vip wants to control but Spencer is keeping busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Spencer is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Vip sees it coming and defends easily. Vip tries to roll over but Spencer keeps him under control. Nice strikes from Spencer there. Vip trying to hold on to Spencer's head to control him but Spencer postures up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Vip manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spencer pushes down on Vip's leg and manages to get into half guard. Spencer is looking for a kimura but Vip is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Spencer to get the leverage. Spencer looks to land a strike but Vip avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Spencer throws a big right hand that misses. Spencer drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vip manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Spencer has Vip in his guard. Vip stops Spencer from standing up. Vip lands a couple of decent looking shots. Vip missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Jackson Spencer has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vip works over Spencer with some ground and pound from guard. Spencer is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Vip is aware though and is defending well. Spencer working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Vip has passed into half guard!
Spencer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Vip is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Spencer has managed to free his arm - good work. Vip thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Spencer pushes Vip off and gets back to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Vip waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Spencer. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Vip shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Spencer but Spencer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And that's the end of the fight! Jackson Spencer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Spencer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
