Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Randy Plouman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stevie McGordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Plouman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stevie McGordon! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jonathan Paton and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Plouman closes this distance looking for a takedown but McGordon circles away. Plouman shoots and misses and McGordon counters by moving into the clinch. McGordon will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Plouman up against the cage. McGordon breaks the clinch.
McGordon takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
McGordon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Plouman avoids it really well and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McGordon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Plouman's waist but Plouman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McGordon off to one side. McGordon lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
McGordon moves into the clinch. Plouman pulls guard successfully.
McGordon stands up and waves to Plouman to follow him.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGordon ducks right into an uppercut from Plouman. Plouman tries to close the distance and clinch up but McGordon swats him away and circles back towards the center. Plouman throws a sloppy head kick and McGordon moves out of range easily. Plouman gets tackled into the cage by McGordon. McGordon maintains the clinch. Plouman is trying to push McGordon away but McGordon has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. McGordon is defending well against a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Randy Plouman. That's going to take a lot out of him. McGordon breaks the clinch.
Plouman tries to clinch but McGordon is having none of it. McGordon is looking for the big counter here. Nice sprawl there from McGordon as Plouman shoots in. McGordon rushes Plouman and presses him up against the cage. McGordon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Plouman shoots in looking for a takedown but McGordon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Plouman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Plouman defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McGordon. McGordon closes this distance looking for a takedown but Plouman circles away. We've been informed that McGordon has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Plouman goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. McGordon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Plouman swats him away and circles back towards the center. Nice takedown defense from McGordon. No joy for Plouman on that attempt. McGordon darts in looking for a takedown but Plouman gets double underhooks and turns McGordon into the cage. Plouman tries to close the distance and clinch but McGordon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. McGordon fails to land with a series of punches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McGordon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Plouman swivels and escapes. Plouman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McGordon as he avoids it easily. Plouman darts in looking for a takedown but McGordon gets double underhooks and turns Plouman into the cage. Plouman throws a low kick but McGordon avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGordon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Plouman gets the takedown into side control. McGordon gets back to half guard. Plouman wants to pass the guard but McGordon is defending well. Plouman trying to control the action but McGordon is working from the bottom. McGordon slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McGordon is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. McGordon has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Plouman should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, McGordon has tightened it up now! Plouman should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
