Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Chavo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edward Durden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chavo's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Rico Sauve by Girardo. Durden has chosen Monster as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Edward Durden! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Durden closes this distance looking for a takedown but Chavo circles away. Horrible takedown attempt by Durden or perhaps it was just good defense by Chavo, which made it look bad. Durden uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Chavo.
Durden tries to keep at a distance but Chavo has taken the fight into the clinch. Chavo has Durden pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Durden manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Durden can't get the takedown.
Eddie Chavo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edward Durden. Durden gets underhooks to prevent Chavo's takedown attempt.

We've been hearing good reports from Chavo's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Durden wants to control for a moment but Chavo uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Chavo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Durden gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Chavo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Durden is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chavo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Durden postures up in Chavo's guard and throws a big left but Chavo blocks it. Chavo keeping full guard, as Durden tries to pass. Chavo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Durden stopping the sweep attempt from Chavo. Chavo pulls Durden in close to his closed guard and prevents Durden from doing any damage or advancing position. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Chavo takes the fight into the clinch. Durden has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Durden is pressed up against the cage. Chavo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Durden down to the mat. Durden avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Durden circles away from the clinch attempt.
Chavo turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Durden scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Durden is trying to ground and pound but Chavo uses the momentary lack of control by Durden to regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Durden throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Durden missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Durden throwing shots but Chavo is blocking nicely. Durden wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chavo keeps working. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Durden missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Chavo makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Chavo. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chavo regains full guard. Nicely done. Durden throws an elbow that misses. Chavo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Durden's guard. Nice move by Chavo! Durden is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Chavo! Durden throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Chavo blocking the ground and pound. Chavo avoids a strike by Durden and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Durden's guard! Fantastic escape!

Chavo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Durden. Chavo scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Durden to see if he's OK. Chavo connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Durden some visible discomfort.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chavo prevents Durden from getting the reversal. Chavo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Chavo pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Chavo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Durden sprawls well initially but Chavo persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Chavo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Chavo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Durden can't escape the position.

Chavo is landing with some decent strikes but Durden is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Durden takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Durden takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Chavo's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
