Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Troy Powers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Austin! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Austin fails in his attempt to clinch. We've been informed that Austin has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Powers lands a nice looking body shot.
Powers lands with a shot to the body. Powers throws out a leg kick but Austin moves out of range and Powers only half commits. A looping hook to the body misses from Austin. Powers does a little dance to reset his feet. Powers swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Austin tries to clinch up. Powers half committed to a counter leg kick. Austin tries to clinch but fails miserably and Powers counters with a nice body shot. Jack Austin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Austin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Powers swats him away and circles back towards the center. Austin closes the distance but Powers moves to the side and Powers counters with a leg kick. Powers throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Austin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Powers.
Austin tries to clinch but Powers moves away letting Powers counter with a right hand. Austin tries to clinch up but Powers circles away and keeps his distance. Powers misses the shot to the body. Austin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Powers paws at him with a jab and circles away. Austin tries to clinch there but Powers circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round. Austin tries to clinch but Powers is having none of it. No joy there for Austin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Powers is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Austin wants to clinch and Powers counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Austin tries to close the distance and clinch but Powers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Austin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Powers paws at him with a jab and circles away. Powers is looking to wear down Austin with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Austin walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Powers throws a body shot but no joy. Powers lands a nice hook to Austin's body. Austin takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Austin tries to clinch up. Austin is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Powers appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Austin scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Troy Powers has been cut. Powers scores with a jab to the body. A cross from Powers lands.
Austin is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Powers throws a hook but Austin blocks it. Austin lands a jab to Powers's midsection.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Austin clinches with his opponent.
Austin tries to work over Powers's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Austin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Austin takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Austin wants to clinch up but Powers keeps it at a distance. Austin tries to clinch there but Powers circles away.
Austin has managed to clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Austin creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Powers blocks a body shot from Austin. Austin breaks the clinch.
Powers shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Austin's guard. Powers throws a big elbow that misses. Powers with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Powers working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Powers content to stall in guard here. Austin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Powers loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Powers trying to control but Austin is working from the bottom. Austin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Powers is controlling him. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Powers's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Powers throws a body punch but Austin moves out of range. Austin throws a series of punches but Powers moves out of range. Austin closes the distance and pushes Powers back into the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Powers lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Austin. Austin manages to break the clinch.
Powers lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Austin doesn't manage to clinch there - Powers circles away.
Austin tries to close the distance and clinch but Powers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Powers throws a body punch but Austin moves out of range. The fight stays on the outside here - Austin looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Powers attempts a counter takedown but Austin avoids it well and moves away. Powers throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Powers, as that shot connected.
Austin fails in his attempt to clinch. Austin tries to clinch but Powers is having none of it. Powers scores with a takedown into Austin's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Powers pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Austin is keeping the position for now. Powers trying to control the position from guard on top but Austin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Troy Powers dominated that round. The cut man is working on Troy Powers's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Austin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Powers swats him away and circles back towards the center. A counter left hand to the body from Powers misses its target. Powers punishes Austin's body with a nice straight punch. Powers swats away the attempt to clinch by Austin. Austin is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Austin tries to clinch but Powers moves away and Powers counters with a nice uppercut. Powers keeps the fight on the outside. Powers has been working on his balance at SWF GYM - JUDO 'n' MMA , so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Austin. Austin takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Austin gets in close and instigates a clinch. Powers breaks from the clinch.
Powers loads up on a big right hand but Austin slips the punch. Powers lands with a shot to the body. Austin fails in his attempt to clinch. Austin wants to clinch but Powers slips to the side and Powers counters with a nice double leg into side control. Austin won't be happy with that. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Austin is trying to improve his position. Powers working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
That's one minute gone in the round. Powers works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Austin wants to get back to his feet but Powers is dominant here and he's now got Austin's back! Austin is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Powers off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Powers throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Powers throwing damaging strikes from the back! Austin could be in trouble here!
Powers throwing wild punches that miss their target. Austin is trying to get back to his feet but Powers has full control of the position and if anything, Austin has just worked his way into a worse spot. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Powers is landing with strikes. Austin can't take much more of this. Austin is still in real trouble! Can Powers finish him? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Powers is loading up with his shots from the back and Austin is in big trouble! Austin taps out to strikes and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Troy Powers! Troy Powers spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
