PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sebastian Bantrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cristian Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bantrell kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is 2pac-Tupac Heaven Ain't Hard 2 Find. Cristian Romero has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sebastian Bantrell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cristian Romero!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero fails with the takedown.
Romero looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bantrell scores with a punch to the head.
Romero fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bantrell is looking to counter punch.
Sebastian Bantrell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cristian Romero.
Romero dodges the punch combination from Bantrell.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Romero shoots in looking for a takedown but Bantrell manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Romero's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Romero shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bantrell but Bantrell pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A little feinted left hand from Bantrell on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Bantrell connects with a right hand. Romero shakes it off.
Bantrell connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Romero momentarily.
Bantrell throws a lazy right hand but Romero sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Romero lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Bantrell at a distance.

Cristian Romero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Romero counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Romero wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bantrell keeps working.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bantrell slaps away a takedown attempt from Romero, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Romero shoots for a takedown but Bantrell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Bantrell is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Sloppy strikes from Bantrell. Those never looked like landing.
Romero shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bantrell pinned against the cage. Bantrell gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Sebastian Bantrell dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bantrell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Romero paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Romero steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Bantrell.
Bantrell is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Romero shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Bantrell is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Romero working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Bantrell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Romero on the ground.

Romero goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Bantrell turns into him and now he's in Romero's guard.

Cristian Romero showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Cristian Romero comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Romero has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The defeated Sebastian Bantrell had this to say: 'Revenge is like the sweetest joy next to getting pussy so mothafucka!! i fucking demand a rematch or else get me some pussy to fuck hard.'.
