Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mario Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Namba Babakla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Namba Babakla enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mario Junior!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Namba Babakla!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babakla is trying hard to land a takedown here. Junior sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Junior jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Babakla shoots in for a double leg but Junior sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Junior tries to close the distance and clinch but Babakla swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Junior rushes Babakla and presses him up against the cage.

Babakla has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Junior clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Junior tries to escape but Babakla has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Junior wants to control his opponent's hands but Babakla gets his hands free.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Babakla is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Babakla is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Junior knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Junior for a finish.

Babakla is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Junior frees his head nicely. Oh but Babakla has switched to an armbar! Junior is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
