Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rick Cartside (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Laboy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rick Cartside!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Damian Laboy!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Damien Edna and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartside feints and as Laboy raises his hands in defense, Cartside changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Laboy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cartside doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cartside manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Cartside wants to control from the top but Laboy keeps moving.
Laboy is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Cartside is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cartside stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Laboy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Laboy trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Cartside has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Cartside trying to control but Laboy is working from the bottom.
Cartside stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Laboy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Laboy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Cartside trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Laboy can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cartside controls the pace.
Cartside wants to control from the top but Laboy keeps moving.
Laboy manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Cartside is squirming around, avoiding Laboy's attempts to control the action.
Cartside working to try and regain half guard.
Laboy working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Laboy working for a guillotine from mount but Cartside is in no mood to give up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cartside tries to hold on but Laboy postures up.
Cartside tries to reverse the position but Laboy maintains control.
Cartside wants to control but Laboy is having none of it.
Cartside is trying to escape the mount.
Laboy avoids the attempt from Cartside to control.
Laboy trying to control but Cartside is having none of it.
Cartside is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Cartside is trying to escape the mount but Laboy keeps good control and instead manages to take Cartside's back.

Laboy is hanging on to Cartside's back as he tries to escape.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Cartside trying to control the hands but Laboy breaks the grip.
Cartside is breathing heavily.
Laboy is looking for the choke from the back position but Cartside is controlling his hands well.
Laboy is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Cartside with him. Cartside is trying to defend but Laboy has an arm under the chin now! Cartside grimaces and is forced to tap out!
