PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Powerslave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pertti Silsa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silsa has chosen Candy by Robbie Williams as his entrance music. Pertti Silsa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Eddie Powerslave!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pertti Silsa!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Powerslave does it's job there.
Silsa lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Silsa throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Powerslave looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
No joy there for Powerslave, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A little jabbing left from Silsa on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Powerslave looks to land a right hand but Silsa moved out of range.
Powerslave misses with a hook.
Silsa was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Silsa has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Danga de danga de dang - Powerslave scores with a four punch combination!
No joy there for Silsa, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Silsa takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Eddie Powerslave seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Powerslave throws a head kick but Silsa moves out of range.
A little jabbing left from Silsa on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Powerslave swings for the body but Silsa moves out of range.
Powerslave throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Silsa steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Powerslave.
Silsa keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Powerslave misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Powerslave swings away with a body shot that misses
and Silsa counters with a stiff right hand.


It looks like Eddie Powerslave has been cut.
Powerslave avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Silsa tries to clinch up but Powerslave circles away and keeps his distance.
Powerslave throws a head kick that misses
and Silsa counters with a series of strikes. Powerslave will be more careful next time no doubt.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Silsa prevents a body shot from Powerslave.
Powerslave misses with the head strike.
Powerslave is trying to force a seperation but Silsa has the dominant position.
Powerslave pushes Silsa back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Silsa has hold of one of Powerslave's legs. Powerslave is fighting the takedown attempt but Silsa gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Powerslave is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Silsa avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silsa trying to control but Powerslave is working from the bottom.
Silsa sitting in guard here, content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silsa passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Silsa works to advance to full mount. Powerslave defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silsa looking to control but Powerslave is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Silsa can't control as he wanted to and Powerslave manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Silsa seems to be working for a kimura but Powerslave defends the submission attempt.
Silsa wants to pass to mount but Powerslave is defending the position.

Silsa is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Silsa tries to pass to full mount but Powerslave defends it.
Powerslave is trying to control but Silsa passes into side control!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Powerslave wants to control but Silsa postures up.
The ground and pound from Silsa seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Pertti Silsa will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Eddie Powerslave's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Silsa looks for a takedown but Powerslave sprawls well.
Powerslave looks to land a right hand but Silsa moved out of range.
Pertti Silsa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A left and a right from Silsa both land. Nice combination.
A head kick by Powerslave misses
and Silsa counters with a straight right hand.
A telegraphed right hand from Silsa misses the target.
Powerslave looks to land a combination. Silsa sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Silsa lands a jab to the nose.


Powerslave is rocked!
Powerslave throws a lazy right hand but Silsa sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Oh Powerslave is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Powerslave swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Silsa counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Pertti Silsa!
After winning the bout, Pertti Silsa thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
