Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Weston Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beast Mcveigh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beast Mcveigh has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Weston Hernandez's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Weston Hernandez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Beast Mcveigh!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcveigh looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hernandez is fending him off so far but Mcveigh persists. Nope, Hernandez circles away and we're back to standing.
It looked like Hernandez was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Mcveigh.
Mcveigh is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hernandez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hernandez swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Hernandez closes the distance and clinches.
Hernandez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mcveigh just stands there and leans against the cage.

Hernandez jumps guard.
Mcveigh trying to control the position from guard on top but Hernandez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hernandez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Hernandez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mcveigh shoots in for a double leg but Hernandez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hernandez changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Weston Hernandez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Beast Mcveigh.

Mcveigh doesn't manage to clinch there - Hernandez circles away.
Weston Hernandez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mcveigh lands a nice looking body kick.

Hernandez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Mcveigh tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hernandez defends well and Mcveigh ends up having to push Hernandez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Hernandez pivots, looking for a leg kick but Mcveigh is out of range and Hernandez settles back down.

A close round but Beast Mcveigh will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Mcveigh throws a head kick that half lands.
Mcveigh shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mcveigh tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hernandez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mcveigh somewhat.
Mcveigh tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hernandez paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mcveigh throws a head kick but Hernandez moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mcveigh scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Mcveigh gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hernandez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Weston Hernandez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Beast Mcveigh.
Mcveigh is breathing heavily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mcveigh.
Beast Mcveigh seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Mcveigh throws a looping overhand right but Hernandez ducks down to avoid it.

Hernandez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hernandez lands a couple of elbows.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hernandez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hernandez digs a good body shot into Mcveigh's ribs.

Hernandez moves into range and clinches up with Mcveigh.
Mcveigh tries to pull guard but Hernandez forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Hernandez's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Mcveigh's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hernandez leaves Mcveigh with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hernandez does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Mcveigh tries to clinch there but Hernandez circles away.
A little feinted left hand from Hernandez on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Beast Mcveigh is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mcveigh takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Mcveigh looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hernandez is fending him off so far but Mcveigh persists. Nope, Hernandez circles away and we're back to standing.
Hernandez has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

and Mcveigh connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Mcveigh moves into the clinch.
Hernandez has had enough of the clinch but Mcveigh keeps him there for the moment.
Hernandez misses with a knee strike.
Mcveigh is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hernandez to keep the fight standing.
Hernandez throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Mcveigh blocks it with crossed arms.
Mcveigh drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hernandez gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Mcveigh connects with a nasty looking knee right to Hernandez's face.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hernandez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hernandez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Hernandez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mcveigh moves away.

Nice takedown defense from Hernandez. No joy for Mcveigh on that attempt.

Mcveigh gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Mcveigh tries to pull guard but Hernandez holds him up against the cage and eventually Mcveigh drops back down to his feet.
Hernandez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mcveigh avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Hernandez has Mcveigh pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hernandez pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mcveigh tumbling to the mat - Hernandez dives into Mcveigh's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mcveigh can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hernandez controls the pace.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Weston Hernandez.
I think Hernandez has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
