Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Schilling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Bob Schilling enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Matthew Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bob Schilling! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Schilling clobbers Jones with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Jones definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Jones rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Schilling counters with a stiff right hand. Jones throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Schilling darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Jones misses with a jab, cross combination.
It seemed like Schilling was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Schilling lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones lands a slapping body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round. Good standup being displayed there by Jones as he connects with a hook. Nice defenses there by Schilling. Schilling uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jones. Schilling throws a counter combo. Schilling ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jones moves away. Jones seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Schilling misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jones was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Schilling throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jones sees it coming and avoids it easily. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schilling is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jones. Jones closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Schilling unleashes a big counter combination but Jones bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Schilling with a body punch. A glancing blow. Schilling cracks Jones with an open hand slap. Jones tries to bum rush Schilling with a series of wild strikes but Schilling uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Schilling appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Nice defenses there by Schilling. Schilling keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

A combination from Jones does no damage. A little jabbing left from Schilling on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Schilling digs a good hook to Jones's body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Schilling rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Schilling waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Jones. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Bob Schilling will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

As Jones backs off Schilling throws a huge counter combo but Jones manages to avoid it all. Jones displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Schilling throws out the jab. Jones misses with a straight left. Jones misses with a combination

Schilling might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Jones looks to land a right hand but Schilling moved out of range. Schilling is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Jones with a body shot. Schilling scores with a crisp jab that stopped Jones in his tracks. Jones scores with a three punch combo!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Schilling pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Jones seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. A combination from Schilling does no damage. It looked like Jones was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Schilling. Schilling misses with a two punch combination.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Schilling in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Schilling feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Joness jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Schilling fails to land with a series of punches.

Schilling swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Schilling's jab looks to have found its range, popping Jones under the eye. Jones walks into a stiff left hand from Schilling. Schilling throws a hook but Jones blocks it. Schilling lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Schilling swinging wildly here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bob Schilling showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Jones feints a jab promting Schilling to slip. Jones then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Schilling slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Schilling bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jones's head. Schilling lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Schilling walks into a straight right hand from Jones. Schilling works over Jones's head and body with a nice combination. This has been an exciting period of action! Schilling will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Jones throws a nice looking combination but Schilling bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Schilling throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot. Schilling has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Jones misses with a few strikes there.
Schilling looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Nice uppercut there from Schilling.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Schilling at a distance.
Schilling looks to land a right hand but Jones moved out of range. Schilling takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Jones looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Schilling moves away. Schilling throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Schilling misses with an uppercut. It looked like Jones wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
And that's the end of the fight! Bob Schilling comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Schilling has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
