Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Pegas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Cliffton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cliffton has chosen Hello-Lionel Ritchie as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
30 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jon Pegas! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scott Cliffton! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cliffton drops Pegas with a beautiful combination! Pegas stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Cliffton is looking for the KO!
It looks like Jon Pegas has been cut. Cliffton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Cliffton throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pegas. Cliffton drops his hands momentarily and Pegas takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Pegas connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Pegas looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cliffton misses with a head kick.
Pegas misses with a hook. Cliffton displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pegas throws out the jab. Cliffton's coach down at Kings Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Cliffton's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Cliffton throws a sloppy head kick and Pegas moves out of range easily. Pegas dodges the punch combination from Cliffton.

Cliffton throws a head kick that misses. Pegas misses with a looping left. Pegas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Pegas struggles to land a body shot inside as Cliffton controls his hands.

Cliffton tries to keep at a distance but Pegas has taken the fight into the clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pegas digs a right hand underneath Cliffton's ribcage. Cliffton let out a lung full of air as it connected.

It looks like Scott Cliffton has been cut. Pegas's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Pegas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pegas turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Pegas has closed the distance and engaged Cliffton in a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Pegas scores with a nice hook to the head. Pegas leaning his opponent against the cage. Cliffton wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Pegas lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Pegas tries to work over Cliffton's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Pegas lands an uppercut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pegas swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Pegas lands an elbow that stopped Cliffton in his tracks for a moment. Pegas keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Cliffton's efforts to push away. Pegas tries a body shot but Cliffton blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Pegas dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Cliffton throws a right and a left that Pegas avoids nicely. Pegas is looking to counter the offense by Cliffton and move into the clinch. Pegas connects with an inside leg kick. Pegas moves away from the strike by Cliffton. An attempted straight right counter from Pegas misses the target. Cliffton is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pegas. A left lands for Pegas. Good shot there by Cliffton. Cliffton misses with a two punch combination.
Cliffton connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Cliffton lands a lovely overhand right. Pegas ducks under a wild hook from Cliffton. Pegas drops Cliffton with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Cliffton looks back up at him and smiles so Pegas waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Cliffton is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Cliffton throws the left hand but Pegas avoids the punch easily. Pegas is looking to counter with a body kick. Cliffton is still on wobbly legs! Can Pegas finish him? Sloppy strikes from Cliffton. Those never looked like landing. Pegas clinches. A nice glancing elbow lands by Pegas. Pegas scores with a hook to the body. Pegas lands a big right hand that drops Cliffton! The killer instinct kicks in and Pegas finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Pegas!
