Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anta Gonista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ren Hitogoroshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gonista might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Honey Bucket. The crowd seem to be enjoying Hitogoroshi's choice of entrance music: Crooked by Bassbin Twins. Anta Gonista has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anta Gonista! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ren Hitogoroshi! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gonista takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Hitogoroshi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gonista moves away. Gonista on the wrong end of a nice jab. Hitogoroshi moves out of range of the leg kick from Gonista. A shot to the liver by Hitogoroshi. Beautiful body shot. Gonista plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Hitogoroshi takes a swing at Gonista's ribcage but misses. Hitogoroshi throws a sloppy body shot
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Hitogoroshi loads up on a big right hand but Gonista slips the punch. Hitogoroshi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gonista moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hitogoroshi misses with a wild combination.
Hitogoroshi moves into the clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gonista jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hitogoroshi walks away with a smile on his face. Gonista gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Gonista fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hitogoroshi. Hitogoroshi gets in close and instigates a clinch. Hitogoroshi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. We've been informed that Hitogoroshi has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Gonista connects with a solid leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. A good leg kick by Gonista. Gonista takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Gonista on the wrong end of a nice hook. Hitogoroshi takes the fight into the clinch. Gonista tries to break the clinch but Hitogoroshi is controlling the position. Hitogoroshi crunches a lovely knee into Gonista's ribcage. Hitogoroshi gets through Gonista's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Hitogoroshi lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Gonista or not. It looks like Anta Gonista has been cut. Gonista has Hitogoroshi pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hitogoroshi manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Gonista is breathing heavily. Gonista is looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anta Gonista. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stalling in the clinch from Hitogoroshi.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hitogoroshi throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Hitogoroshi just leaning against Gonista, taking a breather.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hitogoroshi breaks the clinch.
Gonista goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Hitogoroshi is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Hitogoroshi with a hook. Gonista misses with a body kick. Hitogoroshi is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Hitogoroshi clinches up with Gonista and pushes him back against the cage. Hitogoroshi lands with a left to the head. Gonista wants to get back to striking at distance but Hitogoroshi won't allow it.
Hitogoroshi lands with a light punch inside. Gonista's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! A short right hand to the side of the head by Hitogoroshi. Hitogoroshi lands a right hand. Hitogoroshi stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hitogoroshi creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Hitogoroshi scores with a shot to the side of Gonista's head. Hitogoroshi taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Hitogoroshi lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Gonista looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hitogoroshi working some nice short punches in the clinch. Hitogoroshi doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Gonista tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Hitogoroshi keeps control of Gonista as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Hitogoroshi tries to throw a body punch but Gonista avoids it by throwing Hitogoroshi back against the cage. Gonista manages to break the clinch.
Hitogoroshi connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. A combination from Hitogoroshi does no damage. Hitogoroshi lands a big right hand that sends Gonista crashing to the mat! Hitogoroshi stays standing though and waves Gonista back to his feet!
Gonista is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! A good leg kick by Gonista. Oh Gonista is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Gonista throws a leg kick but Hitogoroshi sees it coming and moves out of range. Gonista looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Hitogoroshi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gonista seems to have got his legs back now. Gonista throws a low kick but Hitogoroshi moves out of range easily. Gonista scoring well with a low kick there.
Gonista gets tackled into the cage by Hitogoroshi. Hitogoroshi maintains the clinch. Hitogoroshi unloads a knee to the mid-section. Gonista lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Hitogoroshi lands a right hand that snaps the head of Gonista backwards. Hitogoroshi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hitogoroshi cracks Gonista on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Gonista falls backwards against the cage. Hitogoroshi follows up with more strikes that drop Gonista to his knees. Hitogoroshi keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Gonista! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ren Hitogoroshi! An out of breath Ren Hitogoroshi thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
