Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Macias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samson Hamster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hugo Macias!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Samson Hamster!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hamster moves into the clinch.
Hamster keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Macias's efforts to push away.
Hamster prevents Macias from breaking the clinch.

Hamster gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Hamster advances to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hamster wants to control but Macias is keeping him busy.
Hamster not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Hamster is trying to control. Macias wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Macias knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hamster on the ground.
Hamster has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hamster moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Macias has worked his arm free - good work by Macias!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hamster wants to stand but Macias has his arm trapped.
Macias looking for a sweep but Hamster has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Macias wants to control but Hamster is having none of it.
Hamster trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hamster is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Macias has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Macias is squirming around, avoiding Hamster's attempts to control the action.
Macias tries to hold on but Hamster pushes him away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Hamster is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Macias can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Hamster lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Macias hang on?
Hamster trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hamster is trying to control here but Macias has managed to regain half guard.
Macias looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Macias is trying to get back to full guard.
Macias is pressing down on Hamster's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Hamster loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hamster trying to control the position from guard on top but Macias is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hamster is stalling in the full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hamster closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Macias quickly recovers to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Samson Hamster dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Hamster blocks a head kick by Macias.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hamster has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Macias has had enough of the clinch but Hamster keeps him there for the moment.
Hamster with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Macias is trying to push Hamster away but Hamster has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Macias tries to pull guard but Hamster forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Macias tries to break free but Hamster pushes him back against the cage.
Hamster is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hamster pulls guard.
Samson Hamster has got the better of the ground game so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hamster controls Macias momentarily but Macias frees himself.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hamster doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Macias stopping the sweep attempt from Hamster.
Hamster keeping moving, preventing Macias from controlling successfully.
Macias prevents Hamster from getting back to his feet.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Macias wants to control from the top but Hamster keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Macias throws a head kick but Hamster moves out of range.

Macias catches Hamster napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Hamster to the canvas!


Hamster is rocked!


It looks like Samson Hamster has been cut.

Hamster had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Macias defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hamster looking to control.
Macias wants to control from the top but Hamster keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hamster wants to sweep but no luck.
Macias postures up.
Hamster lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Macias is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Macias has a closed guard, preventing Hamster from standing up.
Hamster looking to sit in guard and control but Macias gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hamster trying to control the position.
Hamster has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hamster is trying to hold Macias in close to prevent damage but Macias has managed to pass into half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hamster wants to improve his position but Macias is controlling well.
Hamster is looking to get back to is feet but Macias passes into side control.
Hamster manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Macias tries to roll over but Hamster keeps him under control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hamster is thwarting Macias's attempts to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Hamster moves into the clinch.
Hamster blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Hamster tries to throw a body punch but Macias avoids it by throwing Hamster back against the cage.
Hamster has Macias pressed against the cage.

Macias pulls guard effortlessly.
Macias has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Hamster has passed into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A control attempt from Macias but he's now mounted!
Hamster looking to finish with strikes here!

Hamster is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Macias can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Hamster throwing strikes here but Macias is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Hamster throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Macias because Hamster loaded up on that one.
Macias is looking to improve his position but Hamster isn't that keen on the idea.
Macias wants to control but Hamster is having none of it.
Macias avoids a series of strikes thrown by Hamster.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Macias is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Hamster misses with some ground and pound and Macias recovers position to half guard.
Hamster wants to take a breather but Macias is having none of it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hamster looking for a submission but Macias manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Macias trying to keep a closed guard but Hamster is proving a slippery customer.

And that's the end of the fight!
Samson Hamster comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hamster has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
