Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mike Peterson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alexander Mason! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mike Peterson! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Mason is trying to control the position but Peterson postures up. Peterson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mason's head. Mason bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Peterson's guard.
Mason drops back looking for a leg! Peterson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Peterson manages to kick Mason off! Mason jumps back into Peterson's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mason throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. We've been hearing that Mason has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Peterson wants to sweep here but Mason controlling him for the moment. Mason has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mason throws a big right hand that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Peterson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Mason has picked Peterson up and slammed him! Peterson can't keep hold of the triangle and Mason manages to pass to side control! Mason wants to control but Peterson is keeping him busy. Peterson is being controlled here. Mason is working Peterson over with some ground and pound from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peterson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Mason. Peterson is looking for a sweep. Mason wants to control but Peterson is keeping him busy. Peterson is looking for a sweep. Peterson is trying to control Mason's posture but Mason avoids it. Mason in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Mason has hold of Peterson's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Peterson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Mason cranks the arm and Peterson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Peterson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Alexander Mason!
