Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kofi Amankwah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 9 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rabihia Nahas!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Bart Greer and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amankwah lands with a nice combination. Nahas backs away looking to recover.


Nahas is rocked!


It looks like Rabihia Nahas has been cut.
Amankwah misses with a body kick.
Nahas is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Nahas is still on wobbly legs! Can Amankwah finish him?
Amankwah definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Nahas throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Amankwah was covering up waiting for the punch and Nahas finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Amankwah has his hands on Nahas's head, controlling the position.
Nahas seems to have recovered his senses.
Amankwah is trying to keep Nahas in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nahas drops back, looking for a kneebar! Amankwah looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Amankwah looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Amankwah!

Nahas parries the strikes from Amankwah easily there. Amankwah is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Nahas to escape.

Amankwah wants to control but Nahas is keeping him busy.

Amankwah wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nahas, who protects the arm well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Amankwah cracks Nahas with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Nahas is trying to control Amankwah's posture but Amankwah avoids it.
Nahas tries to buck Amankwah off but Amankwah is having none of it.

Amankwah wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nahas, who protects the arm well.
Amankwah trying to control the position but Nahas is working away.

Amankwah working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Nahas wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Amankwah advances nicely into full mount.
Nahas wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
You can see the frustration on Nahas's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Amankwah is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Amankwah tries to keep control of the position but Nahas is staying busy.

Nahas wants to escape the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nahas is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jab, jab by Amankwah - just one landing.
Amankwah is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Nahas fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nahas takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Amankwah scores with a crisp jab that stopped Nahas in his tracks.
Kofi Amankwah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nahas on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Amankwah wants to land a leg kick but Nahas is out of range.
Amankwah tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Nahas takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Amankwah takes the fight into the clinch.
Nahas fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Amankwah wants to break the clinch but can't.
Nahas is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Amankwah to keep the fight standing.
Amankwah is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nahas can do to turn this around?

Amankwah wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Amankwah pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nahas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Amankwah is fending him off so far but Nahas persists. Nope, Amankwah circles away and we're back to standing.
Kofi Amankwah has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rabihia Nahas.
Nahas on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
We've been informed that Nahas has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Nahas dives in for a single leg takedown but Amankwah sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Nahas is breathing heavily.
Amankwah lands a lovely overhand right.
Nahas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Amankwah tries to avoid it but Nahas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Amankwah to the ground. Amankwah escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Amankwah scores with a decent looking hook.

Amankwah gets the takedown into side control.
Amankwah in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Nahas looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Amankwah turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kofi Amankwah!
Kofi Amankwah decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
Rabihia Nahas was interviewed post fight and said 'well I guess I lost then?'.
