Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aleksei Marshal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Unit Eleven! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eleven shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Marshal sprawls well. Marshal wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Eleven gets slowly back to his feet. An inside leg kick lands from Marshal. Marshal swats away the attempt to clinch by Eleven. Eleven throws a leg kick but Marshal checks it. Marshal lands a big head kick that sends Eleven tumbling to the mat! Marshal takes a step backwards and waves Eleven back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Unit Eleven has been cut. Eleven is trying hard to land a takedown here. Marshal sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Marshal sends Eleven crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Marshal is motioning to the referee to let Eleven up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Eleven is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Eleven throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marshal's waist but Marshal gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Eleven off to one side. Aleksei Marshal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Unit Eleven. Marshal has closed the distance and engaged Eleven in a clinch.
Eleven is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Marshal lands an uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marshal escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Marshal lets loose with a powerful body kick. Eleven will feel that in the morning. Eleven looks winded! Eleven tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Marshal paws at him with a jab and circles away. Marshal throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Eleven crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Aleksei Marshal! An out of breath Aleksei Marshal thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
