Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve Palacios! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tyler misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tyler misses the jab. Tyler lands a jab to Palacios's midsection. Tyler closes the distance and clinches. A knee to the head by Tyler.
It looks like Steve Palacios has been cut. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Palacios is working for takedown but Tyler is calmly controlling the position for now. Tyler has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Palacios regains guard immediately. Palacios looking to control.
Tyler advances position into side control! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Palacios tries to improve position but can't. Tyler is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Palacios is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tyler tries for a kimura but Palacios is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyler working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Tyler is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Palacios knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Tyler looks gassed! Palacios manages to work his way to half guard, despite Tyler's best efforts. Palacios is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Palacios is working hard here to advance position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Palacios is not content to let Tyler control the position. Palacios manages to get to full guard.
Palacios manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Tyler avoids a series of strikes thrown by Palacios.
Palacios prevents Tyler from getting the reversal. Palacios working Tyler over with strikes here. Tyler can't escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Palacios can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tyler is looking to escape. Tyler is desperately trying to improve his position but Palacios has a good base and remains in mount. Tyler blocking the ground and pound. Palacios postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Tyler looks a forlorn figure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Palacios lands a nice shot to the head. Palacios lands a heavy elbow. Tyler slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Palacios trying to control the action but Tyler is working from the bottom. Tyler looking for submissions off his back. Tyler is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Palacios's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Palacios's back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Palacios manages to reverse the position and now he's in Tyler's guard. Nice work there by Palacios.
Palacios trying to control but Tyler is working from the bottom. Tyler has his foot on Palacios's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Palacios works his way back into a safe position though. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Tyler is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Palacios regains full guard. Nicely done. Palacios looking for a sweep. Not yet Palacios, not yet. Tyler sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Palacios's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Palacios misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Palacios throws a strike from the bottom but Tyler passes into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Durden Tyler dominated that round. The cut man is working on Steve Palacios's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Tyler loads up on a big right hand but Palacios slips the punch. Durden Tyler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Palacios tries to keep at a distance but Tyler has taken the fight into the clinch. Palacios has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Tyler clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Tyler tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Tyler is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Palacios throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Tyler because Palacios loaded up on that one. Palacios lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Tyler tries to hold on but Palacios pushes him away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tyler looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight. Tyler wants to hold on but Palacios pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Palacios landing shots from mount. Palacios moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Tyler has worked his arm free - good work by Tyler!
Tyler is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Palacios off and has taken his back! Tyler is looking for the choke from the back position but Palacios is controlling his hands well. Palacios is in bad spot here.
Palacios defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Tyler's arms. Tyler is not going to allow Palacios to sit and survive in this position. Tyler is cranking Palacios's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Palacios! He's tightened the choke and Palacios is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Durden Tyler!
