Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Boruta!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boruta tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Horrible takedown by Cook or perhaps it was just good defense by Boruta which made him look bad.
Boruta takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Cook changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Boruta looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Cook is looking to take a break and control but Boruta is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boruta tries to close the distance and clinch but Cook swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

so Cook counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Boruta really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cook. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cook is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Cook trying to control the position from guard on top but Boruta is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boruta utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Cook postures up in Boruta's guard and throws a big left but Boruta blocks it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Boruta throws the kick towards the body but Cook avoids it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Cook shoots in and bounces Boruta off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
