Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pekka Rinne!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rinne throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Miller's waist but Miller gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rinne off to one side.
Miller shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Miller wants to control the pace but Rinne is squirming around nicely.
Miller is landing with some decent strikes but Rinne is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Rinne tries to reverse the position but Miller maintains control.
Rinne really wants to buck Miller off and get back to his feet.
Rinne looks gassed!
Miller controlling from the full mount.
Miller wants to control the pace but Rinne is squirming around nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Miller wants to control but Rinne has made it back to half guard. Nice work.
Miller is looking to take a break and control but Rinne is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Miller throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rinne looks like he's trying to stand up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Miller scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Pekka Rinne has been cut.
Miller ducks under a wild hook from Rinne.
Miller Rushes Rinne and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Rinne is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Miller Piles on the pressure and Rinne crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Miller!
