Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Crowley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jonathan Crowley has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jonathan Crowley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Max Lee!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Crowley tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Lee presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Lee trying to control but Crowley is having none of it.
Crowley is trying to escape the mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lee seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Crowley is holding on tight.

Lee is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Crowley can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Crowley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Lee looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Crowley is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Lee has taken his back!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Crowley can't escape the position.
Lee trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Crowley doesn't escape.

I would not like to be Crowley right now.

Crowley defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.

Crowley drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lee dives on top into guard.

Crowley throws his legs up looking for a submission but Lee uses it to pass to side control.
Lee controls the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lee's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Crowley manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Lee shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Crowley but Crowley pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Crowley closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lee quickly recovers to half guard.
Lee looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Lee has his foot on Crowley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Crowley works his way back into a safe position though.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Lee wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Crowley is now in half guard.
Lee has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Crowley is looking for a kimura but Lee is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Crowley to get the leverage.

Lee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Crowley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lee moves into full guard.
Crowley trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Lee feints and as Crowley raises his hands in defense, Lee changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Lee is stalling in the full guard.

Crowley is looking for a triangle but Lee pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jonathan Crowley will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Lee shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Crowley napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Max Lee has got the better of the ground game so far.
Crowley is looking for a sweep.

Lee is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Crowley is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Crowley is looking to regain half guard here but Lee keeps moving and retains side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Crowley is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Crowley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lee swivels and escapes.

Lee throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Crowley tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lee is in Crowley's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Crowley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lee manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Crowley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Crowley makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Crowley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lee is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Crowley wants to pass the guard but Lee is keeping the position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Lee is looking for a triangle but Crowley pushes his legs off easily.
Lee takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Lee is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Max Lee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lee has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
