Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miko Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vyacheslav Romanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maia kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Hells Bells. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
37 - 24 - 0, fighting out of New York, Miko Maia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vyacheslav Romanov! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romanov takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Romanov digs a good body shot into Maia's ribs. Maia misses with a looping right. Maia misses with a body kick. Romanov pivots, looking for a leg kick but Maia is out of range and Romanov settles back down. Maia has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Mello MMA in the buildup to the fight. Romanov steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Maia. Romanov shoots in for a takedown but Maia shows good takedown defense. Donk. Maia catches Romanov right on the button with a cross. Romanov has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Maia has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Romanov finds it's way round the side to connect with Maia's head.
It looks like Miko Maia has been cut. Romanov throws a leg kick that is checked and Maia counters with a low kick, right behind Romanov 's knee. Romanov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Maia.

Romanov tries for a takedown but Maia circles away easily letting Maia counter with a right hand. Romanov on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Maia works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maia shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Maia showed some decent athleticism there. Maia wants to control but Romanov is keeping him busy. Maia is looking for a kimura here.
Romanov is staying active underneath Maia, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Romanov is looking for a sweep. Maia is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Romanov avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Maia. Maia throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maia trying to control the action but Romanov is working from the bottom. Maia is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Romanov defends it well. Romanov looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Romanov throws the kick towards the body but Maia avoids it. Romanov moves in looking to clinch but Maia pushes him off. Maia throws a nice outside leg kick.

Maia connects with a body shot. Romanov scores with a kick to the body.
Romanov throws a leg kick which misses Maia's front leg but catches the back leg as Maia tries to avoid it. Romanov fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Romanov jabs Maia right on the nose. Maia blinks but takes it well. Maia feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Romanovs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Romanov walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Maia checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Maia thows a left - swing and a miss! A low kick from Maia misses and Romanov counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Maia fails to land with a series of punches.
Romanov takes a swing at Maia's ribcage but misses. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Maia fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Romanov with a nice cross.

and Romanov connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Romanov slips under a jab. A combination from Maia does no damage. Romanov with a poor takedown enabling Maia to counter with a crisp jab. Miko Maia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vyacheslav Romanov. Maia throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Romanov slaps away a takedown attempt from Maia, before circling back to the center of the mat. Romanov looks like he wants to counter punch here. Maia misses with a low kick. Romanov appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Romanov tries to land a front kick but Maia steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Romanov scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Maia with a body punch. A glancing blow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Miko Maia dominated that round. The cut man is working on Miko Maia's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Maia has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Romanov. Romanov fakes the leg kick and cracks Maia in the body. Romanov does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Maia throws an off balance right hand
and Romanov counters with a leg kick. Romanov comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Romanov scores with the left hand. Maia knows he should have avoided that one. A looping hook to the body misses from Romanov. Maia does a little dance to reset his feet. Maia throwing a counter right hand but Romanov manages to avoid it. Romanov throws a body shot but no joy. Some wild striking there from Maia.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Romanov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Maia pinned against the cage. Maia gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Romanov tries to clinch there but Maia circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romanov lands with a cross. Maia shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Romanov but Romanov pushes him off and we're back to square one. Maia scores with a jab to the jaw. Excellent takedown into side control there by Maia. Maia wants to lay and pray for a moment but Romanov keeps working. Maia is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Romanov has escaped the position, nice work there. Maia working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maia throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Maia misses with the ground and pound. Maia has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Maia wants to control but Romanov is keeping him busy. Romanov holds on to Maia's head and controls the position momentarily. You can see the frustration on Romanov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Maia is looking to take a break and control but Romanov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. A lull in the action here as Maia stalls from top position.

Maia tries to advance to mount but can't. Romanov is trying to control Maia's posture but Maia avoids it. Romanov is not content to let Maia control the position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Romanov lands a nice looking body shot.
Maia throws a jab but it's blocked by Romanov.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Romanov clinches up against the cage. Maia lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. A right hook to the body lands for Maia.
Romanov tries to throw a body punch but Maia avoids it by throwing Romanov back against the cage. Romanov working aggressively here.
Maia is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Romanov is keeping busy. Romanov has a couple of punches blocked by Maia.

Romanov with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A nice right hand lands inside from Romanov. Romanov lands a body shot. Romanov has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Romanov scores with an uppercut up the middle. Romanov lands a body punch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vyacheslav Romanov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Miko Maia's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Romanov fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. No joy there for Maia, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Romanov bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Maia avoids the body shot from Romanov.
Romanov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Romanov scores with the left hand. Maia knows he should have avoided that one. Romanov moves out of range of the body kick. Oh, that's a big right hand from Romanov and Maia goes tumbling to the canvas! Romanov follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.
Maia is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Romanov scores with a big shot! Maia's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Maia! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vyacheslav Romanov! Our winner, Vyacheslav Romanov, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
