Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ellis Mccullough (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leighton Kihimahuta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leighton Kihimahuta told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ellis Mccullough! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Leighton Kihimahuta! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Ben Watson and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kihimahuta throws a quick inside leg kick. Kihimahuta gets the takedown into side control. Kihimahuta controls the position. Mccullough dodges the ground and pound from Kihimahuta. Kihimahuta slows the pace down. Mccullough is looking for a sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kihimahuta trying to control the action but Mccullough is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kihimahuta stands up and we're back to a striking position. Leighton Kihimahuta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kihimahuta moves into the clinch successfully.
Mccullough wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Kihimahuta manages to break the clinch.
Kihimahuta shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kihimahuta was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Kihimahuta wants to take a breather but Mccullough manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Kihimahuta.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mccullough has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kihimahuta is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mccullough. Kihimahuta taking a break here but Mccullough is having none of it and regains half guard. Kihimahuta is looking to take a break and control but Mccullough is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kihimahuta is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Kihimahuta tries to free his leg and advance position but Mccullough is retaining full guard. Kihimahuta trying to control the position from guard on top but Mccullough is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mccullough working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kihimahuta doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kihimahuta manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kihimahuta throws a big elbow that misses. Mccullough is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Kihimahuta stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Mccullough has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Kihimahuta manages to get his head free but now Mccullough has transitioned to an armbar! Kihimahuta grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Mccullough! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
