Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Advice Mallard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ben King has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Advice Mallard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ben King! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! King tries for a takedown but Mallard sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Mallard attempts a counter takedown but King avoids it well and moves away. A momentary lapse in concentration from King enables Mallard to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. King manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Mallard has gone for a leg lock! King slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mallard's guard.
Mallard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Mallard looking for submissions from the bottom but instead King passes into side control.
Mallard stops King from passing to mount. Mallard struggling a bit here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. King remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Mallard tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but King wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. King trying to control the action but Mallard is working from the bottom. King advances to full mount. Mallard tries to lock up and control but King gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Mallard is squirming around, avoiding King's attempts to control the action. Mallard slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Mallard looking for submissions off his back. Mallard is looking to control King's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mallard avoid being mounted?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mallard actively working from the bottom here. Mallard has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. King is working away from the top position though. King wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mallard keeps working. King is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Mallard wants to control the action here but instead King manages to pass to full mount! King looking to control but Mallard is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Mallard is looking to improve his position but King isn't that keen on the idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mallard tries to hold on but King postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mallard tries to reverse the position but King maintains control. King controlling his opponent. Mallard is trying desperately to improve position. Mallard slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. King wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mallard keeps working. Mallard with the active half guard here but King passes nicely into side control. Mallard is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mallard manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. King prevents Mallard from improving his position. Mallard actively working from the bottom here. Mallard actively working from the bottom here. King is working for a submission of some sort.
King wants to control but Mallard is keeping him busy. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mallard looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ben King dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
King is looking to take this fight into the clinch. King shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mallard defends it nicely. King avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Mallard keeps the fight on the outside. King shoots in for a double leg but Mallard sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. A quick step to the side and Mallard tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. King doesn't succeed with the takedown letting Mallard counter with a right hand. Advice Mallard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben King. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mallard drives through with a takedown into King's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Mallard drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and King dives on top into guard.
Mallard looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! King has picked Mallard up and slammed him! Mallard can't keep hold of the triangle and King manages to pass to side control! Ben King has got the better of the ground game so far. Mallard is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. King working away. Mallard trying to remain calm as King controls from the top position. Mallard tries to improve position but can't. Mallard wants to control but King postures up. Mallard is trying to work for a sweep but King has mounted him! Mallard manages to regain half guard. Good work. Mallard is looking for a sweep. King is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Mallard is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but King pulls his head out easily. King tries to pass to full mount but Mallard defends it. King is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. King looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mallard actively working from the bottom here. King looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Mallard tries to get to full guard but King has control of the leg.

Mallard is trying to maintain the position but King is very close to passing his half guard. Mallard is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but King pulls his head out easily. That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Mallard keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. King shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mallard defends it nicely. King misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. King shoots in for a double leg but Mallard sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Mallard successfully pulls guard.
Mallard is trying to hold King in close to prevent damage but King has managed to pass into half guard.
