Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ronald Rousey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calvin Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). He arrived on a last minute flight shortly after looking tired and unhappy. Officials decided the fight should still take place, much to the delight of the fans in attendance. Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ronald Rousey and Calvin Tate. Rousey kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Creepy Jackalope Eye by Supersuckers. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Ronald Rousey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Calvin Tate! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tate shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rousey's guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rousey is on top in guard.
Tate looking for a sweep. Not yet Tate, not yet. Tate throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Rousey trying to control but Tate is working from the bottom. Tate wants to sweep here but Rousey controlling him for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tate keeping moving, preventing Rousey from controlling successfully. Rousey pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tate is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rousey trying to control but Tate is working from the bottom. Rousey tries to free his leg and advance position but Tate is retaining full guard. Rousey is working hard here to advance position. Rousey pushing down on Tate's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Rousey is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tate is just riding it out for now. Rousey eventually gives up the hold. Rousey is trying to control the action in half guard but Tate is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Rousey not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Rousey works his way into side control. Rousey lands an elbow. Rousey tries to advance to mount but Tate denies him. Rousey throwing shots but missing, from side control. Rousey misses with the ground and pound. Tate is looking for a sweep. Tate felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Rousey is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Tate has escaped the position, nice work there. Tate gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Tate wants to improve his position but Rousey is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tate has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rousey is working away from the top position though. Rousey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tate keeps working. Tate looking for submissions off his back. Rousey looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Tate is in trouble now - Rousey has advanced to mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rousey is trying to take his opponent's back.
Tate is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Tate is looking to improve his position but Rousey isn't that keen on the idea. Tate keeps trying to improve his position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rousey lands a heavy elbow. Rousey lands a heavy elbow. Rousey looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Tate is rocked! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ronald Rousey dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Rousey takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Tate lands a front kick. Rousey misses the jab. Despite the aggression on Tate's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Tate. Rousey cracks Tate with a big right hand and Tate goes down! Tate is still in real trouble! Can Rousey finish him? The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rousey postures up.
Rousey is pushing down on Tate's leg trying to pass to half guard. Tate is fighting to maintain full guard but Rousey has managed to sneak the leg through. Tate is refusing to be controlled, as Rousey sits in half guard. Rousey frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Tate wants to hold on but Rousey pushes him away. Tate seems to have recovered his senses. Tate might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rousey haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Tate takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Rousey's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ronald Rousey! During a confident post fight interview, Ronald Rousey thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him. Calvin Tate was interviewed post fight and said 'He is better than I thought, I will be back.'.
