The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belfort fails to land the takedown.
Belfort misses with a body kick.
Vimes misses with an uppercut.
Belfort changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Belfort throws a nice inside leg kick.
Belfort connects with an inside leg kick.
Belfort takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Belfort looks for the body kick but Vimes saw that one coming.
Vimes throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Belfort swings widly with a right hand
and Vimes counters with a nice uppercut.
Vimes misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Belfort .
Belfort throws a chopping leg kick but Vimes manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Belfort fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Vimes.
Belfort throws a head kick but Vimes moves out of range.
Vimes throws a big shot that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vimes throws a jab when Belfort was well out of range.
Vimes thows a left - swing and a miss!
Vimes moves out of range of the body kick.
Vimes feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Belfort 's calf.
Vimes connects with a leg kick. Belfort looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Belfort lands with a kick to the ribs.
Vimes throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Vimes throws a low kick but Belfort moves out of range easily.
A big right from Vimes misses.
Belfort has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Vimes.
Vimes takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Belfort misses with a body shot
and Vimes counters with a nice low kick that buckles Belfort 's knee momentarily.
Vimes connects with a single shot there.
Nice straight punches there by Vimes. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Vimes.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vimes tries to work over Belfort 's front leg with a kick but Belfort checks it.
Belfort uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Vimes.
Vimes goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Belfort is rocked!
Vimes lands with a big right hook that stumbles Belfort - he's out on his feet here! Vimes follows up with another monster hook that separates Belfort from consciousness! Belfort falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Vimes stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Samuel Vimes!
