Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Filippo Di Vaio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Stanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stanson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Until The End. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Filippo Di Vaio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Stanson! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Ron Honeybunn and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stanson shoots in and gets a takedown into Di Vaio's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stanson stopping the sweep attempt from Di Vaio. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Di Vaio has his foot on Stanson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stanson works his way back into a safe position though. Stanson trying to control the position from guard on top but Di Vaio is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Di Vaio is on top in guard.
Di Vaio trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Di Vaio throwing strikes but missing. Stanson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Di Vaio. Di Vaio throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stanson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Di Vaio with a flurry of punches that miss. Di Vaio postures up in Stanson's guard and throws a big left but Stanson blocks it. Di Vaio won't allow Stanson to get back to his feet. Stanson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Stanson wants to hit a switch here but Di Vaio passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Stanson there! Di Vaio sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Di Vaio has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Stanson wants to control but Di Vaio is having none of it. Stanson really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

It looks like Brian Stanson has been cut. Stanson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Stanson gets full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Di Vaio accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Di Vaio throws an elbow that misses. Stanson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Di Vaio's guard. Nice move by Stanson!
Di Vaio is looking for a triangle here but Stanson uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Di Vaio struggling a bit here. Stanson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Di Vaio's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Di Vaio takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Di Vaio gets back to half guard. Stanson is looking to advance position but Di Vaio won't allow it. Stanson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Di Vaio trying to hold on to Stanson's head to control him but Stanson postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Di Vaio moves into full guard.
Di Vaio throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Di Vaio is trying to keep Stanson in close.
Stanson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Di Vaio's head. Stanson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Di Vaio working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Stanson has passed into half guard!
Di Vaio looking for submissions off his back. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Stanson tries to stand but his arm is trapped. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stanson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Di Vaio! Di Vaio manages to get back to half guard. Di Vaio wants to control but Stanson is keeping busy and won't allow it. Stanson is looking to take a break and control but Di Vaio is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Stanson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Di Vaio is trying to control but can't.

I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Stanson connects with a nice short shot to Di Vaio's temple. Di Vaio is looking to improve his position.
Stanson is keen to just control but Di Vaio is a slippery customer. Di Vaio flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stanson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Di Vaio is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Di Vaio keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Stanson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Stanson is thwarting Di Vaio's attempts to control the position.

Stanson in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Stanson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Stanson landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Di Vaio wants to control but Stanson postures up. Di Vaio regains half guard. Di Vaio is refusing to be controlled, as Stanson sits in half guard. Stanson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Di Vaio wants to improve his position but Stanson is controlling well.
Stanson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Di Vaio is trying to get back to full guard. Stanson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Di Vaio keeps working. Di Vaio has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stanson is working away from the top position though. Brian Stanson has got the better of the ground game so far. Stanson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Stanson passes to side control. Di Vaio prevents Stanson from improving position. Stanson cracks Di Vaio with a big right hand but Di Vaio just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Stanson takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Di Vaio sneaks out the side door and pushes Stanson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Di Vaio gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Stanson to score an easy takedown into full guard. Stanson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Di Vaio manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stanson manages to get himself to full guard.
Di Vaio is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Stanson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Stanson has escaped and now he's on top!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Di Vaio had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stanson defends it easily. Di Vaio is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Filippo Di Vaio has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Stanson lands a couple of digs. Di Vaio escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stanson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Di Vaio had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stanson defends it easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Filippo Di Vaio showed his dominance in that final round. I think Stanson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
