Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Claudio Guerra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oisin Quinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oisin Quinn has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Claudio Guerra's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Claudio Guerra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Oisin Quinn!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Chad Campbell and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Quinn darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Guerra is trying to stand up here but Quinn is controlling him well.
Guerra regains full guard. Nicely done.
Quinn preventing the sweep.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Guerra can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Quinn controls the pace.
Quinn slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Quinn tries for a kimura but Guerra is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Quinn tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Quinn has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Quinn decides to stand back up. Quinn steps back and let's Guerra get back to his feet.

Quinn shoots in and bounces Guerra off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Guerra had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Quinn defends it easily.
Quinn throws a big elbow that misses.

Quinn gets to his feet. Guerra looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Guerra lands with a cross.
Guerra really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Quinn is looking to clinch but Guerra is avoiding it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Quinn.

Quinn drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Quinn content to stall in guard here.

Guerra working for a triangle but Quinn defends it easily.

Guerra escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Quinn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Quinn looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Guerra is looking to sweep but instead, Quinn has passed into half guard.

Guerra actively working from the bottom here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Guerra looking for submissions off his back.
Quinn wants to control but Guerra is keeping him busy.

Guerra is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Guerra escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Quinn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Quinn has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Quinn sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Guerra's guard.
Guerra pushes Quinn off looking to stand but Quinn dives back in and keeps control.

Guerra looking for a kimura from the bottom but Quinn passes into side control!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Quinn throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Quinn stands up.

Quinn shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Guerra napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Quinn misses with the ground and pound.

Quinn decides to stand back up.

Guerra drives through and clinches with Quinn against the cage.

Quinn's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Guerra avoids the head kick by Quinn.

Quinn shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Quinn is trying to control the action in half guard but Guerra is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Quinn wants to pass the guard but Guerra is defending well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sloppy strikes from Quinn. Those never looked like landing.
Guerra is looking to counter punch.
Guerra fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Guerra throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Oisin Quinn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Quinn shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Guerra is trying to defend but Quinn finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Guerra shoots for a double leg takedown but Quinn sprawls well. He's pushed Guerra's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Quinn throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Quinn throws a right hand that Guerra ducks under and follows up with a left that Guerra also avoids with ease.
Guerra was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Quinn is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Quinn closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Quinn lands in his opponent's guard.
Quinn takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Guerra is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Guerra will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Guerra escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Quinn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Quinn slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Quinn gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Guerra doesn't manage to clinch there - Quinn circles away.

Quinn throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Guerra tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Quinn is in Guerra's guard.
Quinn seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Quinn tries to free his leg and advance position but Guerra is retaining full guard.

Guerra striking off his back but it's not causing Quinn any problems.

Guerra working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Quinn doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Quinn manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Quinn stands up and waves to Guerra to follow him.

Claudio Guerra has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Oisin Quinn is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Quinn fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Guerra to the ground. Quinn is now in Guerra's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Oisin Quinn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Quinn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
