Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luther Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Jones's choice of entrance music: Welcome to the jungle. Luther Meyers has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luther Meyers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jack Jones! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Jones. Those never looked like landing. Jones gets the takedown into side control. Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Meyers keeps working. Jones tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Meyers is looking to regain half guard here but Jones keeps moving and retains side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meyers can't do much from the bottom here. Jones wants to control for a moment but Meyers uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meyers keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Jones is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jones looks to land a strike but Meyers avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Jones trying to control but Meyers is working from the bottom. Meyers trying to control the position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jones slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Meyers manages to get back to half guard. Jones is looking for submissions but instead, Meyers has regained full guard.
Jones wants to control from the top but Meyers keeps moving. Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meyers swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meyers keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Jones throws a strike but Meyers rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Meyers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Meyers lands a couple of elbows. Jones is trying to control the position but Meyers postures up. Meyers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground. Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Meyers defends well. Meyers is working Jones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Meyers drops back looking for a leg! Jones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jones manages to kick Meyers off! Meyers jumps back into Jones's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meyers is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Meyers scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Jones throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Jones is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Meyers rolls with it to try and escape but Jones cranks on the arm and Meyers is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jack Jones! Jack Jones decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
