Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Irving Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Fidler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Irving Knight has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Irving Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joshua Fidler!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fidler wants to clinch.
Knight tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Fidler manages to circle out of the way.
Knight shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fidler sprawls well. Fidler wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Knight gets slowly back to his feet.

Knight tries to stall but Fidler uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Fidler is trying to break the clinch but Knight has him pressed against the cage.

Knight slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Fidler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Knight. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

and Knight counters with a series of strikes. Fidler will be more careful next time no doubt.
Fidler tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Knight manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Knight appears to be looking for a big counter.

Fidler shoots in and gets a takedown into Knight's guard.
Fidler throws an elbow that misses. Knight uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Fidler's guard. Nice move by Knight!


Fidler is working an open guard so Knight takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Knight tries to sprawl but Fidler drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Knight bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fidler's guard.

Knight wants to work for an arm triangle but Fidler is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Fidler throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Knight was covering up waiting for the punch and Fidler finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Fidler looking to sit in guard and control but Knight gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Knight pushes down on Fidler's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Fidler tries to get to full guard but Knight has control of the leg.
Knight is looking to take a break and control but Fidler is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Knight prevents Fidler from improving his position.
Knight is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Knight is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Fidler is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Knight manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fidler manages to get himself to full guard.

Knight wants to get up but he can't break Fidler's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
