Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yong Blankenship (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry Monthan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yong Blankenship! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Larry Monthan! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Ben Hemmingworth and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Monthan blocks a head kick by Blankenship.
Monthan jabs at Blankenship's body. Blankenship drives through and clinches with Monthan against the cage.
Monthan has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Blankenship regains guard immediately. Blankenship might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Blankenship avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Blankenship bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Monthan's guard. Blankenship throwing strikes but missing. Blankenship postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Blankenship working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Monthan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Blankenship throws a big elbow that misses. Blankenship loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Blankenship misses with a head kick.
Monthan wants to counter the offense by Blankenship and move into the clinch position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Monthan tries to score with a low kick but Blankenship moves his leg out of the way. Nice sprawl there from Monthan as Blankenship shoots in. Monthan has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Blankenship is landing a low percentage of strikes. Monthan lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
It looks like Yong Blankenship has been cut. Monthan clinches. Monthan decides to pull guard. Monthan tries to land a sweep but no joy. Blankenship loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Monthan has his hands on Blankenship's head, controlling the position. Monthan working a defensive guard here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Monthan wants to sweep here but Blankenship controlling him for the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Blankenship really is a fat lump. Blankenship misses with a body shot.

Monthan tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Monthan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Blankenship's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Monthan slips nicely into half guard. Blankenship is trying to stand back up but Monthan is controlling him

He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Blankenship wants to get back to his feet but Monthan is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Monthan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Blankenship works some decent striking defense from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Larry Monthan dominated that round. The cut man is working on Yong Blankenship's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Monthan lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Blankenship out cold! Blankenship is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
