Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kublai Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mustafa Shabazz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Kublai Khan has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kublai Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mustafa Shabazz!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shabazz throws a leg kick that misses.
Shabazz chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Khan can pounce on him.
Shabazz shoots for a double leg takedown but Khan sprawls well. He's pushed Shabazz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Shabazz clinches up against the cage.
Khan controlling the action here for a moment.
Shabazz is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Shabazz blocks the elbow strike.
Khan with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Shabazz is trying to pull guard but Khan turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Shabazz with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Khan tries to land knees in the clinch but Shabazz avoids the damage to the body.
Shabazz tries for a takedown but Khan manages to get underhooks.
Kublai Khan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mustafa Shabazz.
Shabazz wants a takedown.
Shabazz crunches a lovely knee into Khan's ribcage.
Shabazz misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Khan.
Khan tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Khan lands a knee to the body.
Stalling in the clinch from Shabazz.
Shabazz has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Khan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Shabazz told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.
Khan connects with a nasty looking knee right to Shabazz's face.
Khan managing to block the knees to the body from Shabazz.
Khan prevents a takedown attempt there.
Shabazz dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Khan lands an elbow inside that Shabazz shrugs off.
Shabazz avoids a wild elbow strike from Khan.

Shabazz is trying to trip Khan. He has hold of a leg but Khan is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Shabazz persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Khan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shabazz on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shabazz looking to sit in guard and control but Khan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shabazz pulls Khan in close to his closed guard and prevents Khan from doing any damage or advancing position.
Khan with a flurry of punches that miss.
Khan is looking to work some ground and pound but Shabazz has wrist control.
Khan tries to free his leg and advance position but Shabazz is retaining full guard.
Shabazz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Khan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Khan trying to control the position from guard on top but Shabazz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Shabazz is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Shabazz is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Khan rolls with it to try and escape but Shabazz cranks on the arm and Khan is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mustafa Shabazz!
Mustafa Shabazz gave a mention to Alcatraz Apparel in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
