Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Javier Ulrich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Vex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ulrich comes to the cage accompanied by Zambombada. Vex is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dangerous - Busta Rhymes. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Javier Ulrich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyler Vex!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vex gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ulrich to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Ulrich thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Ulrich drops back looking for a leg! Vex is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vex manages to kick Ulrich off! Ulrich jumps back into Vex's guard.
Ulrich is pushing down on Vex's leg trying to pass to half guard. Vex is fighting to maintain full guard but Ulrich has managed to sneak the leg through.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ulrich is working for a kimura but Vex is defending it quite comfortably.
Ulrich wants to work for an arm triangle but Vex is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ulrich is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ulrich is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Ulrich seems to be looking for submissions.
Vex really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ulrich. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ulrich is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Vex defends it well.
Vex looks like he's trying to stand up.

Ulrich is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Vex sees it coming and defends easily.
Ulrich is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Ulrich is working for a submission of some sort.
Ulrich trying to control the action but Vex is working from the bottom.
We've been hearing good reports from Ulrich's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Vex is defending against the submission attempts here by Ulrich.
Vex told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Ulrich in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Vex tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Ulrich!
