PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gorm Leifsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leifsson comes into the arena with Iceland's National Anthem blaring out of the sound system. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leifsson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Payne's waist but Payne gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Leifsson off to one side.
Payne fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

It looks like Gorm Leifsson has been cut.

Leifsson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Leifsson showed some decent athleticism there.

Leifsson thows a huge punch but Payne dodges it nicely.

Leifsson is keen to just control but Payne is a slippery customer.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Leifsson feints and as Payne raises his hands in defense, Leifsson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Leifsson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Payne swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Payne bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Leifsson's guard.

Payne drops back looking for a leg! Leifsson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Leifsson manages to kick Payne off! Payne jumps back into Leifsson's guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Payne stands up from Leifsson's guard - Payne perhaps looking for a knockout.

Payne tries to bum rush Leifsson with a series of wild strikes but Leifsson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Payne lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Leifsson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gorm Leifsson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Leifsson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Payne's guard.
Leifsson is breathing heavily.
Leifsson throws and elbow that misses. Payne uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Leifsson's guard. Nice move by Payne!
Payne wants to pass the guard but Leifsson is keeping the position.

Payne is trying to control the action in half guard but Leifsson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Payne is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Leifsson!

Leifsson throws a big right hand that misses.

Leifsson is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Payne has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Leifsson is looking to defend but Payne has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Leifsson! Payne pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Leifsson taps out and this one is all over!
